In order to change the backward status of the design of the transmission system,and speed up the pace of product replacement,the optimal layout problem of Multi-gear transmission system was analyzed.The solutions including the space gear transmission system design,the main parameters optimization method and space layout optimization are proposed.Firstly,the general process for the scheme design of the gear transmission system is introduced.The functional requirements of the space gear drive system are presented.The scheme database of the commonly used gear transmission system and their solving metheds were established according to the actual situation.Secondly,the characteristics of the design scheme of the aforementioned space gear transmission system were analyzed.In order to achieve the automatic expression of optimal design model,the general mathematical model for the optimization design of each gear transmission system was established based on the characteristics of the main design parameters of the cylindrical gear and bevel gear transmission system.An automatic generation method of the objective function,design variables and constraint conditions for the optimization design of the space gear drive system was proposed,which provided convenience for establishing the optimization design model rapiding and accurately.Thirdly,based on the optimal solution of the main design parameters of the space gear drive system,a mathematical model for optimizing the space layout of the components of the space gear system was presented,which provided a foundation for solving multiple space layout schemes of the space gear transmission system scheme.Finally,a practical man-machine interactive automatic design system is developed based on the Basic6.0 Visual software platform by applying rapid design concept.A integrated visual design including scheme design of space gear drive system,optimization design of main parameters and optimal space layout of parts is achieved.Through verification of examples,the developed automatic design software of the space gear drive system is capable of achieving the scheme design of the gear transmission system and the optimization design of the main design parameters and space layout.It was also proved that the proposed design theory and method of the space gear transmission system were reliable and applicable.The comparisons between the original date and the optimized results showed that the total volume detemined by the main design parameters decreased.After the optimization of the space layout,the total volume detemined by the 3D layout scheme of the transmission parts reduced remarkably compared with that by deployment conventional method.Many schemes have a great role in broadening the vision of the designer.In summary,the proposed theory and method of optimal layout design of space gear system in this research is feasible.The automatic analysis system developed according to these theories is effective in shortening the development period of the space gear drive system,reducing its research and development costs and improving the design efficiency and the market competitiveness of the products.
