Water information is one of the hot spots in the application of remote sensing technology,and thematic information acquisition is the premise and foundation of its research.There are two ways to obtain water subject information in currently remote sensing image processing software.(1)The extraction rules and algorithm models built on existing software to realize information extraction.Such as ENVI,users need to set up the extraction rules and algorithm models in the BandMath and realize the extraction of information after step-by-step operation.Operator should be familiar with the software and have a high professional knowledge literacy by this way.(2)Users need to program and establish the extraction model by themselves.In the mathematical software such as Matlab,they need to build an algorithm model with good effective and realize water extraction.Existing methods for extracting thematic information of water have certain requirements for researchers' professional literacy and programming capability.All these have prompted researchers to develop a highly integrated and easy-to-use water extraction module.In the high speed of era of science and technology,software development is mainly divided into two ways:(1)Users can develop a software from the basics roots by using computer language.Developing software based on this method not only takes a long time,but also has low development efficiency,which is not suitable for developing software with specific functions.(2)Users can develop a software with specific features by re-development method on Remote sensing software that have already in the market.This kind of software development method not only saves development time,but also reduces the difficulty of development.More importantly,the development cost also decreases.Therefore,the second development method is more suitable for developing software with specific functions.For the purpose of this paper,the MWE will be designed and implemented with the secondary development method.Object-oriented computer language-IDL is powerful and easy to learn,and ENVI provides many secondary development interfaces and function functions for IDL.So IDL is chosen as the development language.The LBV-B,NDWI,MNDWI have been seen as the core of MWE.Using matrix oriented operation of the interactive data language-IDL to design and construct a module of water information extraction with good human-interaction and some functions,such as data input,data visualization,water information extraction and other functions.For the purpose of reducing time costs and increasing the work efficiency to design and realize the function module.The results are as follows:(1)Based on the historical development of water body information extraction methods at home and abroad,after analyzing the basic concepts and theoretical models of classical water body information extraction methods and image transformation methods,the B-component method,NDWI,and MNDWI are integrated into the model library.(2)The MWE frame designing is divided into four sub-function modules:main function control module,data read module,image processing module,and visualization module,which follows the principles of simple operation and friendly interface.(3)Realize modular calling each other and process operation among functional modules,and acquire the water information extraction module based on ENVI/IDL remote sensing image.(4)The water body information extraction module is practiced by examples,and the testers show that the operation is simple and the extraction speed is fast.
