After successfully hosting the 29 th Summer Olympic Games,China goes on to win the right to host the 24 th Winter Olympic Games,adding another convincing evidence that China has become a great power of Olympics.This power,joint by the advantage of rich ice and snow resources,gives strong support to the grand gathering of the winter Olympics set to be underway four years later.The Olympic Winter Games will bring 300 million people to participate in sports on snow and ice,and greatly stimulate the interest of the people in participating in the winter sports.Ice stadiums,which hold ice sports games,are of great significance to the development of ice sports.These new developments and new policies bring new opportunities to the development of public ice sports stadiums in China.A key issue is how to design high-quality public recreational ice sports centers.The thesis takes the design of South Sea Ice Center in Baotou City as its guide and studies the design of public recreational ice centers.The thesis researches on relevant resources,regulations,construction standards and relevant design experience at home and abroad,and conducts in-depth surveys on the origin,development,concepts,features and trends of recreational ice stadiums.Through literature analysis,empirical analysis,citations,and comparative analysis,the thesis makes a summary of the architectural designs,overall layouts,functions,forms,and technologies.The research combines construction examples and establishes a design system for stadiums in this category with the hope to provide reference for the construction of sports stadium for recreational and leisure activities.
