Renovation of ancient buildings in China has been constrained by many regulatory provisions and guided by traditional repair methods.The application of new materials and new methods needs a long-term process.The renovation of ancient buildings,laws and regulations,"repair the old as the old" repair concept,all these reflected in the repair project will appear in the understanding,theory,practice,and so on.The in-depth exploration,design,optimization and evaluation of the renovation process can better improve the corresponding standards.The deep understanding of the corresponding damage and the judgement of the effectiveness of the repair method can promote the reasonable revision of the corresponding provisions and make the repair more scientific.This thesis takes the Erxian Temple of Xiao Hui Ling,Lingchuan County,Shanxi as the typical research object,and analyzes and studies the whole process of the renovation project,from the aspects of architectural form research,damage exploration and analysis,the design and optimization of repair technology and the rationality evaluation based on the material tests of the replaced old components.The study of this complete process will provide basic material for the repair research of ancient buildings,and also provide reference for the promotion of the protection technology of ancient buildings and the development of new renovation technology.The main contents of the thesis can be summarized as follows:(1)Architectural form research and structural damage exploration.The maintenance,function change and the main architectural form of the Erxian temple are examined and analyzed.The temple is composed of eleven buildings.The wood structure of the buildings in the temple,including columns,beams,roof frames and arches,and the damage of the non wood structures including the building ground,the floor,the wall and the tile top are investigated in detail,and the preliminary analysis of the causes is also carried out.(2)Design and optimization of repair methods.In the renovation of ancient buildings,we should adhere to the principle of "cultural relic protection law","do not change the original form",as far as possible to reduce intervention,protect the original and historical information of existing objects,protect the original and historical information of cultural relics,protect the historical authenticity of cultural relics,keep the original image features,eliminate dangers and reduce hidden dangers;Protection of valuable components and techniques in different periods;protection measures must be reversible;adhere to the tradition of technology,techniques and materials.Therefore,the restoration technology should strive to use the original components and reduce the replacement of the components,protect the original components,retain the original materials,maintain the existing state of color painting and color,and maintain the integrity of the environment and the architectural art.Based on the principle of renovation of ancient buildings and the analysis of building damage,the thesis designs the restoration methods of the wooden frame and non wood structure of the Erxian temple,and compares and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the different repair schemes,and optimizes the repair design methods.(3)Evaluation of the rationality of repair based on material tests of the replaced old components.How to determine whether damaged components need to be repaired or not is the key and difficult point for repairing of damaged wooden structures.At present,the research methods of damages to ancient timber structures are mainly based on the naked eye survey or stress wave detection.It is not reliable to dermine the replace damaged components only by visible injury.In the theis,the basic physical and mechanical properties of the replaced old timber were tested.Research on the material property of the replacement of the timber components can evaluate the rationality of the repairment and also provide the reference for the repair of the same type of building.(4)The survey and analysis of the timbers used in the Shanxi historic buildings indicate that the timbers are gradually changed mainly from Coniferous Species to broad-leaved timbers from the north area to the south area,fundamentally the local timbers were used,and in which the poplar wood were used widespread.The density test of the 23 old components taken from 11 historic buildings indicate that it is hard to get the precise density change rule of the same kind of different dynasties timbers,but the change tendency can be forecast.In order to make these initial data practical it is necessary to further test the different kind of components taken from the different individual old buildings.The mechanical properties test of the 28 old components taken from 13 historic buildings indicate that it is impossible to get the relatively precise tendency relationship between the timbers' mechanical properties and their different dynasties in the samples 11 are pine,13 are poplar wood and 4 are elm.It is necessary to make further research through other way or other index.
