Catenary compensation device is to improve the quality of pantograph-catenary current collection,which is very important to improve the overall quality of the railway operation.At present,the main methods which are used to monitor the catenary compensation device include regular manual inspection,as well as catenary inspection vehicles and other special vehicles on a regular basis.However,the above two commonly used means of detection have a lot of shortcomings,as we all know,manual testing cost a lot of manpower,as for vehicle detection system,it will occupy the line,affecting the operation of other trains,and the two methods are unable to obtain timely access to the status of the catenary compensation device,and they cannot timely find the hidden trouble and other problems existing in the catenary compensation device.In order to make up for the shortcomings of the current catenary compensation device,this paper designs the online monitoring system of the catenary compensation device.The STC MCU is used as the control core of the lower computer system and the ultrasonic sensor is selected as the measuring device of the a value and the b value.The corresponding upper computer monitoring software is developed so that the whole system can achieve the timing monitoring of a value and b value of the catenary compensation device.After completion of the lower computer system,the data will be sent through GSM wireless communication to the upper computer monitoring system which will do the Data Processing and give real-time display the corresponding waveforms of a values and b values.When the a value and b value of the catenary compensation device are out-of-limit,the monitoring system will send an warning message to the relevant staff,in order to find the hidden trouble in time,and to ensure that the catenary in a good working condition.The on-line monitoring system of catenary compensation device developed in this paper belongs to the C6 device of 6C system,it has been installed in Beijing Railway Bureau locomotive depot.After the actual test on the site,the entire system can automatically monitor the a value and the b value of the compensation device,with accurate detection and stable operation.This indicates the on-line monitoring system of catenary compensation device has a strong practicality and reliability.
