In the 21st century,high arch dam construction in China is developing rapidly.Compared to other dam types,arch dam has the characteristics of small volume,low cost and high safety,which is the first dam type section of building dams in alpine valleys.In this paper,safety monitoring and early-warning methods for high arch dams are investigated systematically in three aspects,such as the key technology of high arch dams and monitoring methods,monitoring data analysis and mathematical model as well as early warning index system and early-warning methods.The main research contents in this dissertation are as follows:(1)The key technologies of typical high arch dams constructed in our country are enumerated are analyzed;Several projects of the security monitoring of arch dams are expounded,and the monitoring arrangement,the selection and the embedding of monitoring instruments are discussed.(2)The data processing of safety monitoring for dams is studied,and based on the validity of dam safety monitoring data,several guidelines are applied to monitoring the data thickness;Monitoring data is analyzed routinely,and statistic model of arch dam displacement safety monitoring is established,and the research suggests that monitoring effect quantities such as displacement,seepage,stress and strain changing with water level fluctuation are obvious in the early stage of reservoir storage.(3)The warning meaning,the warning source,the warning signs,the alert of high arch dam early-warming and their mutual logical relation as well as the architecture of the three-tier warning system are analyzed,and the early-warning index is classified from multiple angles,and the connection between alert index,warning source index and warning signs index is discussed;The meaning of safety monitoring index in early warning system is expounded and three methods for formulating safety monitoring index of high arch dam are discussed;The modeling method for monitoring effect quantities and warning criteria are studied to provide technical support for real-time monitoring structure workability state of high arch dam.
