The Overall Planning Of Zhuzhou Yunfeng Forest Botanical Garden

Ecological and environmental issues of the current world have a close bearing on sustainable development of the earth.As a nursing bed of plants,a botanical garden has undoubtedly been in an advanced position for urban biodiversity protection.In the contemporary era,a botanical garden has integrated its functions of migration protection of plants,scientific research,utilization and development,popularization of scientific knowledge and public recreation.However,botanical gardens,known as symbols of a metropolis,are still calling for further improvement so as to meet universal demands of citizens.The overall planning of Zhuzhou Yunfeng Forest Botanical Garden is proposed under the above background.The project is located in the Zhuzhou Yunlong Demonstration area.The overall planning originates from Bailing Village in the east and stretches westward to Yuntian Village via Yunfeng Lake Village and Wuxing Village.It starts from the Yunfeng Lake in the south and ends at the intersection of three villages,including Yuntian Village,Wuxing Village and Bailing Village.The whole project covers a floor area of 678.27 hectares.Based on interpretation of national ecological civilization construction and relevant policies,the development process of,relevant planning theories and approaches of botanical gardens both at home and abroad are deeply examined.The excellent botanical planning cases at home and abroad are referred to.Additionally,field survey and pre-stage analysis of background and construction conditions are combined with corresponding laws and regulations to plan Yunfeng Forest Botanical Garden into one with "evolution theory"as the main concept;"ecology,locality,scientificity,detailing of landscape and human orientation" as principles;and "ecology and culture" as the main themes.The diversity,regionality and uniqueness of Zhuzhou Yunfeng Forest Botanical Garden are highlighted to create unique soft and hard landscape,a new-type demonstration area suitable for living,working and traveling,and a wellbeing area featuring urban-rural integrated development.All in all,the Botanical Garden can be designed into a multifunctional comprehensive botanical garden integrating species preservation,scientific research,technological education,development and utilization,and ecological travel.The overall planning of Zhuzhou Yunfeng Forest Botanical Garden divides the overall structure of the Botanical Garden into "one core area,one belt,two pavilions,seven areas and eight plus N gardens".To be specific,the "one corearea" refers to the core construction area,which is also the exhibition center of the Botanical Garden;the"one belt" refers to the main landscape demonstration belt;"two pavilions" include"Forest Museum" and "Exhibition Greenhouse".Meanwhile,seven functional areas,namely "scientific research management area","characteristic flowers and trees exhibition area","indigenous botanical garden","theme garden","forest leisure resort area",and "underwater forest area".Meanwhile,eight specialized botanical gardens are designed on the core area and 18 are designed on the non-core area through landscape planning,visit planning,traffic planning,basic engineering planning,anti-disaster engineering planning,etc.Therefore,there are 26 specialized botanical gardens in total.These specialized botanical gardens plan Zhuzhou Forest Botanical Garden into a botanical garden based on scientific knowledge popularization,cultural communication and local plant demonstration,and with ecological industries,citizens' rest and ecological travel as the main characteristics.Finally,periodical planning,industrial development planning,and investment estimation are proposed for the botanical garden,hoping that these suggestions can contribute to sound and sustainable development of the botanical garden and give full play to the ecological,social and economic benefits of the botanical garden.Finally,research findings of the whole paper are summarized.On the other hand,limitations of this research are pointed out.It is hoped that this research can provide references for the future planning and development of Zhuzhou Yunfeng Forest Botanical Garden as well as other botanical gardens of the same type.
