With more and more polar resources gradually discovered and developed,the icebreaker which can navigate and transport freely in the polar become more important.Based on the polar special geographical and climatic environment,the icebreaker will bear the large load in the work process.In this transmission process,the thrust bearing will directly bear the load from the propeller.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the dynamic characteristics of thrust bearing under transient concussive load.This paper begins with the analysis of ice load,and established the theoretical mathematical model of dynamic characteristics of thrust bearing.Through the ANSYS/LS-DYNA display dynamic software analyses and simulates the collision process of ship and ice,in order to get the changes of load situation under the different speed and ice thickness.Then by solving the Reynolds equation,the transient pressure equation of the oil film,the oil film thickness equation,the lubricating oil viscosity temperature equation,the oil film bearing capacity equation and the dynamic characteristic coefficient equation,we get the ice load by simulation,finally get the changes of the stiffness coefficient and damping coefficient of oil film.In the end,the oil film thickness is verified on the experimental platform.The results show that the oil film thickness decrease first and then increase under transient large load,the stiffness coefficient with the change of the oil film thickness and the damping coefficient with the change of the oil film thickness are approximately the same.The oil film thickness with the increase of load become thin,and the maximum stiffness and damping are the biggest at the minimum oil film thickness.With the increasing speed,it reaches the maximum value faster.But compared with the stiffness coefficient,the damping coefficient is smaller.The speed will affect the peak time.The faster the speed,the earlier the peak load occur,and the ice thickness has little effect on the time of peak load.With the increase of icethickness,the stiffness and the damping of the maximum oil film thickness will increase significantly,and the time that maintain at the bigger stiffness will also increase.Finally,confirm the correctness of oil film thickness change trend by experiments.
