The overrunning clutch is the key power transmission component which located between the prime mover and the driven machine or between the driving shaft and driven shaft that must cut off the power in some condition.In recent years,more and more of the mechanical transmission device needs to be equipped with double power or multi-power system.In order to coordinate the power supply,overrunning clutch has become an indispensable key component,because it can switch the power automatic.New model,new ideas and new requirements of overrunning clutch constantly emerging,has greatly promoted the research of this subject.The study of overrunning clutch,mainly concentrated in the roller overrunning clutch and wedge overrunning clutch,and the cam clutch designed and analyzed in this paper is a special form of the wedge overrunning clutch.The first chapter briefly introduces the classification and several kind of friction overrunning clutch,set out the prominent advantages of cam clutch.In the second chapter,the principle and the main structure of cam clutch is described,the main factors influencing the cam clutch performance are analyzed,which has carried on the analysis to cam self-locking essence of clutch,and calculated the initial contact angle of cam clutch.Since the contact stress is an important index of clutch performance examination,the third chapter studies the cam contact stress between cam and ring,and analyzes the radial deformation of inner and outer ring under the static contact force while the clutch is wedged,get the theoretical basis for calculation and verification of cam clutch parameters.The fourth chapter studied and analyzed the design method of cam clutch and the calculation method of all parameters in the design process,and the stress analysis and radial deformation are checked through the design example.In the fifth chapter,the contact characteristics such as the circumferential deformation the sliding distance of cam along contact surface and the contact stress are analyzed through finite element analysis software.In this paper,the design and analysis of cam clutch are carried out,the self-locking nature of cam clutch and its self-locking angle are explained explicitly,a calculation method is provided for the parameter calculation and verification of the cam clutch product development process,the correctness of the design of the cam clutch is verified by the contact characteristic analysis of the design example by the finite element analysis software.
