The roller overrunning clutch, due to its light weight, stable transmission, highworking reliability, becomes the important transmission component of the vehicularsupercharger. The study on the multiple failure problems with the overrunning clutch,combined with the Friction Theory, through the calculation and analysis with thetransmission and compressing component of the clutch using the Finite Element Method, issuccessful completion of the relevant component structure optimization and improvement.The improved products through bench test and reinforcement road test inspection, fullymeet the use requirements of the supercharger, filling the gaps in the domestic field.This paper first introduced the overrunning clutch development, working principle,types and characteristics. Second, a detailed analysis of the main shaft of the engine underthe condition of high frequency torsional vibration with the different failure forms of theoverrunning clutch, puts forward corresponding settlement countermeasure.At last it brieflyintroduces the Finite Element Method used in engineering.The overrunning clutch invalidation problem caused by excessive wear, from the drivecomponent contact stress, a detailed analysis of the three different transmission structure.From various angles, preferably suitable structure, the bench test and road test inspectionreinforcement. The Finite Element analysis proves the correctness of the results and theoptimization of the reliability of structure. Based on the Finite Element foundation model, aresearch on the effective reduction of contact stress with clutch transmission component,for the following research and guidance of design.In view of the non wear condition slip failure, through the three pressing shapedspring component analysis, we find out the deficiency of existing structure, by increasingthe effective coil number and reducing the helix angle, improving pressure elementstructure, the bench test and road test results verify the rationality and reliability ofstructure.Through the above research, the successful completion of the mechanicalsupercharger in selection and improvement with the overrunning clutch. The results of thisstudy show that: for similar to the overrunning clutch which is also non-standard part, bythe Finite Element analysis combined with the traditional test method, which caneffectively avoid the error caused by the difference between the test sample, efficient,accurate, rapid optimized design, reduced the development cost, shorten developmentcycle.
