The concrete faced rockfill dam is one of the common dam types used in the construction of water conservancy dams.Compared with other types of earth and rockfill dams,the concrete faced rockfill dam is characterized by good seismic performance,short construction period and strong adaptability.These advantages make the faced rockfill dams have good economic benefits.With the construction of several new face rockfill dams located in the strong earthquake area,the seismic safety of these concrete faced rockfill dams has received great attention from engineering researchers.In this paper,the Xianyou reservoir faced rockfill dam is taken as the research object,and the seismic safety of the concrete faced rockfill dam is studied and discussed.The static and dynamic analysis 3D-model of the dam is established,meanwhile,the corresponding static and dynamic calculation program is developed to analyze the dynamic response of the dam under the normal water storage condition.These results can provide the reasonable suggestion and guidance for the seismic design and the construction of the concrete face rockfill dam.The main research work can be listed as follows:1)The literature about the seismic safety of the concrete faced rockfill dam have been readed widely,the computational model and method concerning the dynamic analysis of the CFRD are elaborated in detail.2)The mathematic model,displacement model,stress-strain matrix and other mathematic models of concrete face rockfill dam are introduced,and the 3D static calculation program of concrete faced rockfill dam is developed with the FORTRAN computer language.3)The dynamics constitutive model used in the simulation analysis of CFRD is introduced,and the residual deformation analysis and the corresponding calculation program are described detailly.4)Three-dimensional finite element static analysis is carried out on the normal water level of Xianyou reservoir faced rockfill dam.The Duncan E-B model is used in the static calculation and the water loading process is simulated by the method of graded loading.The stress-deformation of static result can provide the basis for dynamic calculation.5)The dynamic analysis of the 3D dam in the normal water storage condition is carried out to obtain the dynamic calculation results during the earthquake,further calculation of the residual deformation,the panel stress and joint displacement after the earthquake are calculated.According to the results of finite element calculation,the Xianyou reservoir face rockfill dam is safe under the normal water level 7 degree check earthquake.
