Belt conveyer is a widely used mechanical device which conveys bulk material in a continuous way.During over 100 years after its invention,conventional groove-type belt conveyor has been developed into various new types of conveyors,to meet the requirements of different site conditions.Its flexible arrangement,environment-friendly conveying and low construction cost made pipe conveyor popularized.Till now,over 2000 sets of pipe conveyors are in operation all over the world,among which more than 300 sets of pipe conveyors are in operation in China.The 1st set of PSK(pipe shape keeping)rollers between transition section and PSK section are usually bearing the biggest force and are of biggest possibility to twist.The roller number and arrangement format of these two positions are significant for the reliability and life span of conveyer system operation.Proper PSK roller arrangement format here are of big importance in actual project application.This thesis is to introduce the development history of 6/0 and 3/3 PSK roller set of pipe conveyors and to demonstrate the reasonability of 6/0 PSK roller set and essentiality of adopting 6/6 PSK roller set at critical positions,based on the actual parameters of PSK section roller sets with different roller numbers in conveying system for coal conveying pipe rack project at Zhangzhou Gulei Haiteng Port of Xianglu Petrochemicals,by contrast and analysis through finite element method simulation.The research result proved that adopting 6/6 PSK roller set at critical positions of pipe conveyer system efficiently increased the system reliability and roller life span.This research result were applied in pipe conveying projects for Nantong Cargill Company and Hubei Ezhou Power Plant etc.turned out to be successful operated and worth wide application.
