With the rapid development of China's social economy,the demand for electricity has been increasing,the grid technology continues to develop and progress,ultra high-voltage transmission came into being.GIS has compact structure,comparing to the traditional open-type substation,the whole area of the GIS substaion greatly reduced,and not affected by the environment which brings high reliability,so GIS is widely used in the 1000kV UHV substation.UHV transmission has great capacity,good economic returns.But at the same time,UHV GIS demands great better insulation level.The insulation of GIS directly affects the operation of GIS equipment and stability of power grid.In order to diagnose the early defect of GIS,to forecast the development trend of partial discharge activity of UHV GIS in time,and to judge the health of UHV GIS,the research.of partial discharge on-line detection system has been done in recent years both at home and abroad.In view of the above,this paper first analyzes the structure and common faults of UHV GIS equipment,and studies the principle and phenomenon of partial discharge,and expounds the harm of partial discharge activity to GIS insulation health.Secondly,the advantages and disadvantages of various detection methods and the applicable scope are summarized by comparing the electrical detection method and the non-electrical detection method of GIS PD detection.Thirdly,this paper introduces DMS PDMG-RH partial discharge on-line monitoring system,which is installed in a 1000kV UHV substation,especially introduces the main structure,software setup,system features and defect analysis expert database of the system.Fourthly,the events of PDMG-RH system are analyzed and summamzed to judge the general location and type of the defects,according to the partial discharge active signal of a 1000kV UHV station.At the same time,compared with the data of Huachen portable PD detector,the data of on-line monitoring system are validated,the position and the possible reason of the PD signal are synthetically judged,and the health status of the substation GIS equipment is analyzed synthetically.In this paper,GIS partial discharge monitoring(PDM)system components,PDM system applications has been studied.The research of this paper has practical significance for the continuous improvement of UHV system and the better control of GIS insulation in UHV substation.
