With the increasing popularity of agricultural mechanization, agricultural machinery, especially tractors, often work in the harsh environment of the field under low-speed,high-power,and high-load conditions, but their heat dissipation is not as simple as ordinary cars. The phenomenon of water tank boiling also occurs due to poor heat dissipation conditions.Frequently seen, excessive cooling capacity leads to too much heat loss, which in turn reduces the tractor's fuel economy. In view of the various problems in the actual process of the tractor cooling system, most take timely prevention of faults considering the key points of use of agricultural tractor and take effective measures to improve the performance of the cooling system from local key components through relevant experiments, whereas failing to improve significantly the cooling performance of the cooling system.Although many domestic and foreign experts, scholars and research institutes have carried out a lot of research and improvement on the tractor cooling system, the tractor cooling system are still facing several common and difficult problems: 1.To meet the strict emission regulations of the next-generation from EU and the United States,it needs a more powerful cooling system and advanced engine thermal management considering engine technology increasing about 25% of the exhaust heat compared to the current and the consequent economic constraints.2.Since tractors often work in various harsh environments differ from the driving conditions of cars,it presents a greater challenge to the cooling system. In general domestic tractor companies also use some effective maintenance for cooling systems, but they cannot solve the fundamental problems to ensure reliable cooling systems. At the same time,it need stop to check cooling systems so that wasting a lot of manpower and material resources when cooling systems various problems is prone to arise and difficult to detect.3.Although carried out some experiments and simulation calculations on the cooling system of the car,the joint simulation and optimization calculation of the tractor engine cooling system is not much.Research on tractor cooling systems is generally limited to experiments and generally defined in a module or a component, not considering overall module co-simulation,so it is difficult to obtain optimized parameters member so as to match with the optimization module. To solve the above problems,it is necessary to systematically study the influence law of cooling parameters of the tractor engine on the cooling performance and the optimal matching of the tractor engine cooling system. Therefore, systematically studying the cooling system from the whole, and adopting a reasonable cooling model to improve the performance of key components, which is of great significance to improving the cooling effect of the cooling system and improving the dynamic and economic performance of the engine. This article relies on the national key development project "New energy-saving environmental protection agricultural engine development",using simulation methods to study the cooling performance of the tractor cooling system, using the tractor road driving test and field operation test to verify the cooling performance of the cooling system, completing optimal design of the tractor cooling system. The main research content is as follows:1.Carry out tractor cooling system structural analysis and evaluation index definition.Analyze the structure of the main components of the cooling system, such as radiators, pumps, and cooling fans, define the evaluation indicators of the engine cooling system and explain the main methods for evaluating the cooling system.2.Perform cooling system model building and model calibration. The main parameters of the cooling system are selected based on the selected engine,AMESim cooling system simulation model is built according to its basic structure, and then the existing experimental data is used to verify the correctness of the model.3.Investigate the influence law of cooling component parameters on cooling performance. The simulation research on the cooling performance of the cooling system is taken under the conditions of steady-state operation of the road and variable speed of the field operation of the tractor, and the simulation results show that the effective increase of the radiator's positive area can optimize the cooling effect of the radiator. And then change some parameters of the core components such as the coolers, radiators, and fans in the model so as to study the influence law of relevant parameters on the engine cooling performance, and the optimal positional relationship between the intercooler, radiator, and fan was obtained.Secondly, the effects of two kinds of cooling fans on engine cooling performance are studied under four conditions: low-speed and high-load,low-speed and low-load,high-speed and high-load,high-speed and low-load.The simulation results show that the power consumption drops significantly under low load after using electromagnetic clutch type fan, reduced by 13.7%.4.Complete the optimization design of the engine cooling system, and check whether the optimized cooling components can meet the cooling performance requirements under all the severe working conditions(high load and high power, high temperature, idle speed),and strive to provide a reliable and effective method for optimization and test of the tractor engine cooling system. The simulation of the cooling performance of the tractor was performed mainly in the three typical environmental conditions of hill climbing, high temperature and low temperature. The results show that the optimized cooling components can meet the cooling performance requirements of various severe working conditions.
