Fully-Electric Automated Mechanical Transmission(AMT)is formed by combining automated shift control and clutch system with the traditional fixed Mechanical Transmission(MT).It has great potential market due to its high transfer efficiency?low cost and easiness to manufacture.Among them,the electric clutch actuators is an important part of AMT system,its working quality directly decides the overall performance of the AMT system.Therefore,research on full electric AMT clutch actuator control,has the very vital significance.AMT clutch as an important component of the AMT system has an important connection with the vehicle drive system.Based on the studies and mathematical analysis of the engine characteristics,clutch diaphragm spring characteristics,friction torque characteristics and the starting process of the clutch,the author build the engine,clutch and the vehicle dynamics model and clutch actuators working model by applying the MATLAB/Simulink in this paper.The uncertainties in the process of AMT automatic clutch working affect the quality control and performance of the vehicle.Clutch control's problem are the characteristics of clutch system with nonlinear and parameter time-varying and susceptible to interference,therefore,the precision of the clutch engagement process is difficult to control.In this paper,two kinds of control algorithm including fuzzy algorithm and PID algorithm have been used and controllers have been designed respectively to study the clutch engagement process.Clutch engaging speed fuzzy controller consists of two levels including starting intention controller and the joint speed controller.The design of PID controller is based on the fully research in the electric clutch actuators.We can treat the real working voltage as the input condition to control the position of clutch engagement.The size of the working voltage is adjusted by pulse width modulation process of AMT control system.In order to test and verify the reliability of automatic clutch PID control,the author conduct a test on the bench and real vehicle about the PID control model on the basis of the modeling analysis and simulation research.The conclusion shows that no matter in the starting working condition or in the working condition of power/non-power shifting gear under the condition of guaranteeing the driving comfort and power performance,automatic clutch can very good response the command of control system,and have a better result on completing separation and joint process and achieve the desired control objective.In this paper,the existing researches about control of clutch actuator put a good application of theoretical research to the engineering practice.It has an important significance to the development and practicing of the AMT.
