To meet the requirements from safety,infotainment and energy efficiency,more and more functional modules and electronic control units(ECUs)are added into the automotive electronic system,which increases the complexity of the automotive networks to a large extent.Various types of communication protocols are used in automobiles such as LIN,CAN and FlexRay etc.They have different characteristics and advantages to meet the different application requirements.To enhance the performance and cost savings,diffreent communication protocols coexist in the automotive network.Gateway is the core component which connects different buses.The design and implementation of automotive gateways have been an important research topic.By analyzing the current research work on automotive gateway,the following drawbacks were found:First,because of single function and fixed interface,the gateway is unable to meet the diversity of network design and scalability;Second,the gateway requieres high-performance processor;Third,there are lack of development and testing platforms;Fourth,signal mapping algorithm of gateway can not be applied to the actual projects.To solve the above problems,we carried out the following research work:First,the frame packing algorithm for FlexRay-CAN heterogeneous network was proposed.Signal mapping algorithm is the core algorithm of the gateway,however frame packing algorithm is the premise and foundation of research on signal mapping algorithm.In this paper,we used FlexRay-CAN heterogeneous network as the object and researched the frame packing algorithm for heterogeneous networks.This paper showed the real-time analysis of gateway singles and proposed a frame-packing algorithm for FlexRay-CAN network.The problem of structure of the message set was solved,which laid a foundation for the signal mapping algorithm.Then,the LIN/CAN/Ethernet automotive gateway based on FPGA/SOPC was designed and implemented.FPGA/SOPC technology has the characteristics of soft/hardware configuration and hardware acceleration.Based on FPGA/SOPC technology,we designed the interface component of LIN,CAN and Ethernet,customized processor IP(MicroBlaze),and finally designed a new generation of flexible and powerful vehicle gateway.At last,the development and testing platform was built.In order to verify function and performance of the automotive gateway,this paper built LIN,CAN and Ethernet networks based on MC9S12XDP development board,Nexys3 development board and PC,designed the data collection and developed the analysis software.Tested by this plateform,the result showed that the LIN/CAN/Ethernet automotive gateway achieved the data forwarding and satisfied real-time transmission.
