Distribution network is an important part of the power system.Fault location is a key function of distribution automation,aimed at determining and isolating problem areas quickly when the distribution network failing,so as to restore power in non-fault zone as quickly as possible.This paper focuses on the distribution network fault location algorithm.The algorithms the distribution network fault location taken,is based on the topology of the grid,which is useful to achieve fault location with its reasonable mathematical description.Based on graph theory,this paper describes three common forms of distribution network topology description,then completes simplifying the modeling of complex power distribution.With the distribution network loop matrix model,the paper offers a distribution network fault location algorithm based on matrix circuit,which basing on the analysis of matrix algorithms in distribution network fault location,fully taping the distribution network topology features.The algorithm achieves fault location by establishing a relationship between the switching node and each loop in and describing the topology of distribution network.The algorithm is not only applicable to the general problem area including regional and non-T containing the contact's contacts T general section but also the end of the feeder fault.The example analysis successfully verifies the feasibility of this algorithm.Since FTU installed outdoors,its severe working environment may cause FTU reported missing or distorted information,which directly affect the distribution grid fault location.For the situation that the failure information uploaded by FTU equipment may case distortion,this paper develops the distribution network fault location based on genetic algorithm,whose high fault tolerance can properly solve new problems of distribution network fault location algorithm which caused by failure information distortion.To accurately and quickly use genetic algorithms locate fault area in distribution network with DG,this paper attempts to introduce genetic algorithms as a means to achieve fault location,and uses the sub-regional positioning ideas for fault location in distribution network,greatly improving the distribution efficiency of the grid fault location so as to make the traditional distribution network fault location algorithm become more practical.
