The Research Of The Characteristics Of Historical Ancestral Hallsin Pingjiang

The Ancestral hall is a product based on the Chinese ancestral worship.More analysis of ancestral hall are about Jiangxi Shanxi,Fujian,Guangdong,Zhejiang and so on,and when comes to Hunan,the studies are focus on the south,the west,the middle of it,but not on northern or the eastern.Pingjiang is in the northeastern of Hunan,located on the border of Hunan,Jiangxi,Hubei,with a long history.During the process of researching,the writer found some historical ancestral halls with some studying value.After a plough of field researches,this paper will make a lot specific analysis to the ancestral hall in Pingjiang.Chapter 1: The writer introduces the background and the significance,and will generalize the native and the aboard research,define the relevant concepts,and give the framework.Chapter 2: The writer analyses the regional overview of Pingjiang.After generalizing the history and culture of Pingjiang,ancestral halls,and building buildings,the writer wants to explore the internal culture behind the architecture.Chapter 3: The writer analyses the architectural characteristics by studying the site,the function,the plan,the elevation and decoration,and the construction.Then it will try to make comparison with the ancestral halls in other province and the dwellings in Pingjiang.Chapter 4: After a serious study about the existing ten historical ancestral halls in pingjiang,the writer wants to generalize the differences and commons,through sorting table drawing.Chapter 5: Based on the analysis about the current situation about the ancestral halls in Pingjiang,this paper will give some advices about protection and will make an exploration about Ancestral hall renewal in the modernizationDuring this research,the writer found some differences about characteristics of plan,elevation and construction of the ancestral halls between in Pingjiang and in other places.the plan figure as “?”,the design of “Zhaoting”,and other special constructions are Pingjiang's particular characteristic.Besides,based on the studying of characteristic and current situation,the writer explored a transformation idea about the historical ancestral halls in the modernization,helping the historical architecture to survive and thrive through the combination of model design and historical space.
