In southern shaanxi foundation improvement project of a certain power plant,this article is based on a research of gravel improved expansive soil.First,the basic physical properties of expansive soil and improved soil,swelling,strength,experimental study with conventional improvement methods are compared,and the comprehensive improvement effect could be judged by experts method(DELPHI).Based on the research of the above test and data analysis of the main conclusions as follows:(1)in expansive soil with high density,high moisture content,the characteristics of high liquid limit and high clay content.After joining round gravel compaction test,the optimum water content from 18.76%to 11.32%,maximum dry density increased from 1.84 g/cm3 to 2.05 g/cm3.Improved expansive soil with no load expansion volume of the test,round gravel mixed with different proportion of samples in different times speed variation is obvious.(2)on the round gravel,lime,cement,fly ash modified swelling,unconfined compressive strength and economy,comparison,operability and time limit for a project construction method(DELPHI)based on expert to the objective of the expansive soils modified index weight,the comprehensive index after summary,round gravel modified technique has a great advantage in this project.Round gravel,lime,cement,fly ash with the score of four methods are:8.5:6.5:6:4.5.
