Analysis Of The Factors Influencing The Quality Of Environmental Information Disclosure In Paper Industry

In recent years,serious environmental pollution and the gradual depletion of natural resources make people realize the importance of sustainable development.Whether the environment is good or not is closely related to people’s life.Serious environmental pollution will not only harm people’s health,but also cause a vicious circle of future economic development.Enterprises are the main driving force of economic development and the main responsible person for environmental pollution.Therefore,enterprises have an unshirkable responsibility for environmental protection.Environmental information disclosure can combine the environmental protection situation with the production and operation situation of the enterprise,and promote the enterprise to attach importance to environmental benefits and reduce pollution.Therefore,the environmental information disclosed by enterprises has become the main channel for the public to examine the environmental protection work of enterprises,and the importance of environmental information disclosure has gradually attracted the attention of the public.Papermaking industry has the characteristics of large demand for materials and large discharge of waste water and so on.It is facing great pressure of environmental protection.After introducing and commenting on the basic theory and literature,based on the situation of paper industry,this paper puts forward four hypotheses and establishes regression model to verify the overall environmental information disclosure quality factors of the industry.In this paper,we collect the information of 32 listed companies in the paper industry in the past five years,and obtain 143 effective samples.After descriptive,correlation and collinearity analysis of the model,we use regression analysis to further analyze the relationship between the explained variable EDI and the explained variable.It is found that in the paper industry,the size of enterprises,profitability,solvency and holding type have significant impact on the quality of environmental information disclosure.In order to further verify the results of empirical analysis,this paper selects Sun Paper Company as a case study.Using content analysis method to analyze and summarize the environmental information carrier,content,quality and influencing factors of quality disclosed in the past six years,it is found that the environmental information quality of Sun Paper Company has improved significantly and EDI score has increased year by year since 2015;the management pays special attention to the pollution control and recycling of water resources;however,there is still a lack of independent report and repetition Disclosure of information and some information without quantification.Finally,based on the conclusion of empirical and case analysis,this paper puts forward suggestions from three angles of government,enterprise and society,such as carrying out environmental protection inspection and commendation in different scales of enterprises,establishing environmental protection scoring website with credibility,guiding the management to change the concept of environmental cost,and strengthening the public’s attention to environmental protection,so as to support the sustainable development of paper industry Road.
