lean and sufficient air intake is the prerequisite for the normal operation of the engine.Mining vehicles work in the environment with high dust concentration,so it is very important to ensure the cleanliness of engine intake.The problem of air filtration for mining vehicle engines can be solved by using composite air filter with cyclone tube type coarse filter.However,the filter area of the current swirl filter cannot be changed generally,resulting in a large air intake resistance at high speeds and a poor filtering effect at low speeds.In order to solve this problem,An improved scheme of adopting modular variable flow area and dual inlet cyclone filter was put forward in this paper,and relevant researches are carried out.The main research work includes:(1)The influence of the inlet area of the cyclone tube on the performance of the filter was analyzed,and the design scheme of cyclone filter with modular variable flow area and dual air inlets was proposed,and the cyclone tube coarse filter was designed;(2)The mathematical model of the swirl tube was established,the internal flow field of the swirl tube was simulated by ANSYS Fluent,and the diameter and insertion depth of the outlet tube of the swirl tube with dual inlets were optimized;(3)The three-stage composite filter with double inlet swirling tube was tested.The results show that the pressure loss of the filter is reduced by 0.4 k Pa on average and the average filtration efficiency is increased from 92% to 94% after using the double inlet swirling tube coarse filter.
