Testing And Evaluation Of The Mechanical Properties Of Down Jacket Fabric

Down jackets are popular with consumers because of their light weight and warmth.As an important part of down jackets,the structure and performance of Fabric will also greatly affect the appearance,comfort and durability of down jackets.In the process of actual practice,I found that under different temperature conditions,the down jacket will feel hard and wrinkle easily.Therefore,this paper takes the common down jacket fabric as the research object,to test and evaluate their mechanical properties under normal temperature conditions,low load conditions and low temperature,thus providing data references and basis for the actual application of down jackets.The main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Structure and performance of down jacket fabricThe appearance of 8 kinds of down jacket fabrics was observed,and the tensile properties,tearing properties,wrinkle resistance,moisture permeability and breathability were tested.The results show that the 8 down jacket fabrics are all plain weave,the surface is relatively smooth and the structure is compact;the tensile breaking strength is between 269.8~646.6N,the breaking elongation is between 23.4%~49.4%,and the breaking strength is between 5.40~12.93 N/mm;tear strength between 5.4~45.9N;total wrinkle recovery angle between 220.5~295.3°;air permeability between 20.12~132.42mm/s;moisture permeability between 1187~2561g/(m~2·24h).(2)Mechanical properties under low loadThe KES instrument w used to test the tensile,shear and bending properties of 8 kinds of down jacket fabrics under low load conditions.The results show that the tensile linearity of the fabric is between 0.76~0.98,the tensile work is between 2.99~17.95cN·cm/cm~2,the tensile elasticity is between 62.2%~97.3%;the shear rigidity of the fabric is between 0.77~1.57cN/[cm·(°)],the shear hysteresis 2HG is between 1.94~6.59cN/cm,the shear hysteresis 2HG5 is between2.24~10.25cN/cm;the fabric bending stiffness is between 0.0090~0.0425cN·cm~2/cm,the bending hysteresis moment is between 0.0069~0.0356cN·cm/cm.(3)Mechanical properties at low temperaturethe 3 kinds of nylon down jacket fabrics provided by the company were taken as the research objects,and their crease recovery and bending performance were tested at 20,0,-5 and-10?respectively by self-built crease recovery test device and bending performance test device.The results show that:in terms of wrinkle recovery,from 20?to-10?,with the decrease of temperature,the wrinkle recovery of the three types of nylon down jacket fabrics showed a downward trend.And the decline of coated nylon down jacket fabric is more obvious.In terms of bending performance,from 20?to-10?,as the temperature decreases,the bending length of the three types of nylon down jacket fabrics is increasing,and the rise of coated nylon down jacket fabrics is more obvious.
