The waste cooking oil contains a large amount of aromatic,which can replenish the light component reduced in aging process of asphalt and be used for asphalt rejuvenation.At the same time,waste cooking oil sources complex due to China's vast territory and the diversity of food culture,its quality is not easy to control so as to limit the large-scale application of waste cooking oil.Therefore,how to better control the quality of waste cooking oil became the key to the asphalt rejuvenation by waste cooking oil.Based on the above background,waste cooking oil components with different molecular weight were obtained by distillation of waste edible oil,the waste cooking oil can be classified into three components based on their molecular weight,namely light components,medium components and heavy components.Different components were used as the base oil to prepare asphalt rejuvenator,which was prepared with plasticizer,viscosifier resin,antioxidant and light stabilizer by orthogonal experiment and compared with commercial rejuvenator.The viscosity,composition and thermal stability of the rejuvenator were studied.The physical properties,rheological properties and composition of the rejuvenated asphalt were studied.The main conclusions are as follows:For different components of the rejuvenator,the base oil: plasticizer: viscosifier resin: antioxidant: light stabilizer ratio(mass ratio)of light component,medium component,heavy component based rejuvenator is 1:0.1:0.09:0.004:0.012,1:0.2:001:0.008:0.012,1:0.3.0.01:0.004:0.004,respectively.The properties of waste cooking oil based rejuvenator meet the requirements of technical code for highway asphalt pavement rejuvenation.The waste cooking oil-based rejuvenators with low viscosity and their components are similar to those of commercial rejuvenator.The activation energy of light component based rejuvenator is small and the initial decomposition temperature is low,indicating poor thermal stability.The initial decomposition temperature of medium component,heavy component based rejuvenator and commercial rejuvenator is high,indicating good thermal stability.The rejuvenating asphalt had better properties in low temperature.The low temperature ductility of aged asphalt was enhanced and its high temperature performance was decreased to different degree with the rejuvenator content increasing.The optimum content of commercial rejuvenator,light component,medium component and heavy component based rejuvenator were 7.3%,4.7%,4.1% and 4.7%,respectively according to the penetration in 25?,softening point,ductility in 10?and viscosity in 135 ? of origin asphalt.Under the optimal dosage of different rejuvenator,the low temperature crack resistance,fatigue performance and low temperature rheological property of aged asphalt can be significantly improved.It shows that the structural stability of asphalt is enhanced.The adhesion of asphalt and aggregate increases,the colloidal instability index decreases,the carbonyl and sulfoxide index decreases.It shows that the aging property of asphalt decreases.The results above show that the rejuvenators of different components of waste cooking oil have good properties,which provides a possibility for the large-scale application of waste cooking oil in asphalt rejuvenation field.
