Ethylene glycol is mainly used in the pet industry in China,and is one of the few products with a large import dependence.Compared with the traditional process of petroleum as raw material,the ethylene glycol process from syngas is environmentally friendly,effective utilization of resources,and high added value,but there are still some deficiencies.In this dissertation,the process of synthesizing ethylene glycol(ethylene glycol)with a single series of 200 thousand t/a and product separation of 400,000 t/a used by Shenhua Yulin Energy Chemical Co.,Ltd.is analyzed and studied.First of all,to study and improve the quality of products,mainly to improve product purity,purification of ethylene glycol qualified ethylene glycol,purification of crude alcohol,to meet the requirements of downstream enterprises of ethylene glycol in product quality,improve the economic benefit of the unit.Secondly,the pollutants in waste water and waste gas were analyzed,and the measures to reduce the amount of nitrate in the wastewater of esterification and to reduce the organic content in the non-condensing section were proposed.Thirdly,the direction of catalyst improvement is put forward according to the present situation of the process technology and performance of catalysts for synthesis of ethylene glycol.Finally,the ethylene glycol process of synthesis gas was optimized,and the energy consumption of ethylene glycol process equipment was reduced.By taking measures to optimize the process of ethylene glycol from syngas,ethylene glycol will make excellent products with purity of 99.9%,top ethylene glycol products accounted for 95%,ethanol products meet the requirement of anhydrous ethanol quality standard,the content of nitrate in effluent is less than 0.02% in wastewater,the content of methanol in effluent is less than 1% in wastewater,the main economic and technical indicators have reached the same the device of the international advanced level.Through the process technology optimization,the device can use the waste heat in the process to further reduce the energy consumption and improve the efficiency of the device.The optimization of process technology for producing ethylene glycol from synthetic gas will further improve the technical level of ethylene glycol produced by synthetic gas in China,enlarge the production capacity and reduce the import of ethylene glycol.
