In recent years, more and more scholars have studied traditional villages to explore the rich and valuable ecological experience in traditional villages, which has been widely concerned and recognized by the academic community.Traditional villages use the means of building natural ecology and gradually evolve into a building wisdom through the experience summary of past dynasties, creating a comfortable thermal environment suitable to the regional climate.Generally speaking, this kind of regulation is in line with the concept and demand of low-carbon,ecological and sustainable development. However, from a rigorous and scientific perspective, does this kind of regional construction have low-carbon advantages? Is the advantage obvious? These problems need to be verified by quantitative research, which is the main purpose of this study.Based on the analysis of regional characteristics and carbon emission characteristics of gully regions on the loess plateau,it is found that heating energy consumption and building energy consumption are the main sources of carbon emission in rural areas. Therefore, improving the climate adaptability of villages and reducing the energy consumption of heating in winter and cooling in summer are important means to achieve the goal of low carbon.Meijiang village,a typical traditional village in the loess plateau gully region of northwest China,is taken as an example to verify whether it has climate adaptability. The micro-climate data of typical space in meijiang village were collected by field measurement and analyzed.Meanwhile, the micro-climate simulation of typical space in the village was conducted by using thermal environment simulation software, and the reliability of software simulation was verified by comparing the measured and simulated data.Effective after validation of simulation software based on the above, traditional villages in meijiang village and location, climate conditions and similar modern rural village of meijiang, meijiang xincun,by controlling the variables and the methods of comparative analysis of two village, village site selection, layout, streets and lanes width, green layout, courtyard layout, underlying surface materials, building materials and construction of thermal environment simulation,to verify that the construction elements of climate adaptability of traditional villages. In the end,the study analyzes the low-carbon characteristics of traditional villages from the perspective of energy consumption, and extracts the low-carbon wisdom of meijiang village, including the choice of environment according to local conditions, space construction according to climate environment, and construction method based on local construction,so as to provide some enlightenment for the low-carbon construction and development of vast rural areas. The research results show that the micro-climate regulation mode of construction elements in traditional villages is better than that of modern villages, with good climate adaptability, which can effectively reduce the energy consumption of cooling in summer and heating in winter, and reduce carbon emissions.Among them, village location layout, street layout, courtyard layout, building materials and structure are the main factors influencing the low-carbon characteristics of traditional villages.
