With the improvement of people’s awareness of environmental protection, the environmental management of open-pit mining abandoned mining areas has gradually received the attention of relevant fields and staff. This article takes the Haizhou open-pit mining area in Fuxin City as the research object, and conducts field survey and sampling of the soil and vegetation in the mining area. The number of samples taken is: 754 surface soil samples,30 vegetation samples, and a total of 197 groups of deep soil samples.Through indoor testing experiments and remote sensing image surveys, the physical and chemical properties of the mining area, soil nutrients, root harmful soil elements, and vegetation coverage classification in the study area were calibrated;the index comprehensive method and limit condition method were used to carry out comprehensive land use and ecological restoration in the mining area.Suitability analysis, based on the analysis results, put forward technical plans for comprehensive land use and ecological restoration in mining areas.Research indicates:The areas suitable for cultivating are mainly distributed in the middle of the study area, that is,the northeast of the dump, the west side of the pit,the east, north and northeast of coal gangue, and the north and northeast of open pit mining. The area around the arable area, the southeast area of the coal gangue mountain and the area around the dump site;the grassland is mainly distributed in the platform area of the dump site, and the area around the coal gangue mountain and the eastern area of the open pit.According to the analysis results of the suitability of land use and ecological restoration, combined with the current status of land use,a comprehensive land use plan was obtained.Combined with the existing soil, vegetation, etc.,an appropriate ecological restoration plan is proposed for the existing unreasonable land type or the land type suitable for change. This study focuses on promoting the sustainable development of the ecological environment of the mining area, and has practical guiding significance for the ecological restoration and governance, environmental protection and harmonious development of the open-pit mining area. The paper has 22 figures,18 tables and 52 references...
