Abstract/Summary:
The limitations of natural resources and the ecological environment determine the sustainability of economic development, the ever-increasing demand of human material the increasing waste emissions led by the rapid expansion of production scale and the rapid increase in the number of people will gradually approach the carrying capacity of the natural environmental, how to coordinate the contradiction between economic growth and environmental protection is a common problem for all countries. At present,China has crossed the turning point of the "Environmental Kuznets Curve",and economic development has provided a favorable and healthy development space for improving the ecological environment. To a certain extent, the improvement of the quality of the ecological environment will produce benefits of environmental protection and economic. The existence of economic benefits has increased the attractiveness of foreign direct investment in the region. In order to pursue more profits, more and more foreign capital will choose to flow into the place.Improving the regional eco-environmental quality means increasing the economic benefits of the local environment and enhancing its ability to resist natural environmental risks. It’s of great theoretical significance and practical value for the good and rapid development of the local social economy. However, the inflow of foreign capital has the risk of inducing environmental pollution inevitably. How to coordinate the relationship between them and achieve balance of clear water, green mountain and gold, silver mines is the key to promoting the green transformation of China’s economy in the new era. Therefore,an in-depth analysis of its impact on FDI location selection from the aspect of the regional ecological environment has become an urgent problem to be solved.Based on the relevant theories of FDI location selection, this paper empirically examines the impact of ecological environment quality on FDI location selection based on the DS monopolistic competition market analysis framework and spatial econometric theory model and under the setting of the geographic adjacency spatial weight matrix、geographic distance space weight matrix and economic distance space weight matrix for the panel data of 30 inter-provincial in China from 2006 to 2017.In this paper, the spatial autocorrelation of FDI location selection was tested by means of and statistics, and bidirectional fixed effects were selected on the basis of LM test,Hausman test and LR test. The results show that the FDI location selection has a significant spatial autocorrelation in both global and local areas. To accurately characterize the impact ofecological environment quality on FDI location selection, this spatial effect must be taken into account.Ecological environment quality has a significant positive effect on FDI location selection. With a significant positive effect, the improvement of the quality of the ecological environment will increase the attraction of the place to FDI and thus increase the inflow of foreign direct investment in the place. Finally, based on the above research results, this article will propose policy recommendations to coordinate the construction of the ecological environment and the inflow of foreign investment from the perspective of ecological environmental protection and foreign investment in order to take into account both environmental protection and economic development.
