5-Hydroxymethylfurfural is an important biomass-derived compound.2,5-furandicarbaldehyde and 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid synthesized by photocatalytic selective oxidation can be widely used in the fields of synthetic plastics, medicine, pesticides, etc. The use of heterogeneous photocatalysis to selectively oxidize 5-hydroxymethylfurfural has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, easy separation of catalyst and product, and environmental protection. It has gradually attracted the attention of researchers. This article mainly discusses the catalytic activity of metal compound catalysts and carbon-nitrogen polymer catalysts and the influencing factors of catalytic activity. In metal compound catalysts, metal sulfides usually show higher catalytic activity;the catalytic activity of carbon-nitrogen polymer catalysts is closely related to the supported(co)catalysts they cargoed. In addition, the incident light wavelength, light duration, and(co)catalyst loading have a direct impact on the catalyst activity, and the p H of the reaction solution will determine the oxidation pathway of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural.At the same time, this article also combed the oxidation mechanism of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural reported in the literature, and put forward a new oxidation mechanism conjecture based on the literature report. Finally, this paper also discusses several new photo-oxidation catalysts, and analyzes the catalytic mechanism of some catalysts.Combined with the research accumulation and knowledge of the research group in this area, some problems still existing in domestic and foreign research are analyzed, and some suggestions and solutions are given. At the same time, the photocatalytic selective oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural,photocatalytic reaction mechanism, highefficiency catalyst design and reaction conditions are prospected.
