With the development of society and the advancement of science and technology,environmental issues have gradually received widespread attention from the world.Lightweight structural design is considered to be one of the important means to promote energy saving and emission reduction,and it is particularly important in the transportation and construction fields.In recent years,the demand for lightweight high-strength structures has been increasing,and a variety of new lightweight structures are gradually being used in various fields of modern society.The honeycomb panel is considered to be the most widely used lightweight panel structure,but in many fields,its performance has been difficult to meet the requirements of modern production.The Origami Metal Sandwich Panel designed in this paper is considered to be a new type of lightweight panel structure that can replace honeycomb panels,and can be widely used in the floor and walls of automobiles,ships,aircrafts,and lightweight building structures.In terms of performance,The bending stiffness,lateral compressive stiffness,shear strength,and high temperature resistance of Origami Metal Sandwich Panel are better than honeycomb panels,which has important research value.Therefore,in this paper,the following aspects of the mechanical properties and forming process of the Origami Metal Sandwich Panel are studied:(1)The evolution law of the cell geometric model of Origami Metal Sandwich Panel is the basis of all analysis and research.In this paper,the contact angle and contact width in the cell parameters are used as design variables to derive the evolution law of the cell in a specific arrangement state,and the design space of the cell is determined.(2)In this paper,the relative bending stiffness and relative lateral stiffness are used as the evaluation indicators of mechanical properties.The nonlinear implicit finite element analysis software MSC.Marc is used to analyze the influence of different cells on the mechanical properties.And compared with honeycomb panels,the results show that Origami Metal Sandwich Panel has better mechanical properties than honeycomb panels.(3)In this paper,the thickness reduction rate is used as an evaluation index of forming quality,and the forming process of Origami Metal Sandwich Panel is analyzed using MSC.Marc.The formability of Origami Metal Sandwich Panel in single-step and multistage forming was analyzed respectively,and proposes a multi-step progressive forming process.Based on the analysis of the structural parameters and process parameters of the prismatic and hemispherical transition cells,the influencing factors of forming quality were determined.(4)According to the influence law of forming quality,two dies were designed,and the verification experiments of the forming process proposed in this paper were carried out.The Origami Metal Sandwich Panel was successfully manufactured,and the feasibility of the multi-step progressive forming process proposed in this paper in actual production was verified.
