| Stainless steel composite plate is widely used in many industries because of its excellent comprehensive performance and good cost performance. However, brittle compounds are easy to form at the interface of stainless steel composite plate during hot rolling, which affects the mechanical properties of composite plate. It has certain theoretical value and practical significance to improve the existing rolling composite process by adding pure iron interlayer material and to discuss the influence of pure iron and its thickness on the mechanical properties of the composite plate. In this paper,a symmetrical assemble pattern with insulator is used to carry out hot rolling test after welding seal and vacuum evacuation. The thickness of pure iron interlayer used in the experiment has four parameters: no intermediate layer,1mm,2mm and 3mm.The stainless steel composite plates were prepared at three heating temperatures of 1000℃,1100℃,1200℃ and three reduction rates of 30%,50% and 70% respectively. The structure, element diffusion and mechanical properties of the rolled composite plates were analyzed. The mechanical properties of the composite plates rolled by the above methods are sufficient to meet the national standards. The research results also provides reference for the preparation process of composite plate in actual production.(1)The effects of different thicknesses of pure iron interlayer, different heating temperatures and different reduction rates on the structure of hot-rolled stainless steel/carbon steel composite plates were studied. The results show that with the increase of rolling temperature or reduction ratio, the diffusion of carbon element can be promoted, and the area of carburized layer on stainless steel side becomes larger obviously.Pure iron interlayer can hinder the diffusion of carbon element, thus avoiding the formation of chromium carbide on the side of stainless steel. The hindering effect of different thicknesses of pure iron is different. The thicker the pure iron layer is,the stronger the hindering effect on carbon element is,the smaller the area of carburized layer is.(2)The influence of different thicknesses of pure iron interlayer on the bonding strength of composite plates was studied. It is found that the bonding strength can be improved to a certain extent with the increase of the thickness of pure iron layer from nonpure iron layer to 2mm.However,the bonding strength curve hardly changes as the thickness of the pure iron layer continues to increase.(3)The influence of adding pure iron interlayer and its thickness on the tensile properties of hot-rolled stainless steel/carbon steel composite plate was studied. It is found that the tensile properties of the composite plates can be improved by adding pure iron interlayer. The higher the heating temperature or the higher the reduction, the thicker the pure iron interlayer to be added.Excessive thickness of pure iron interlayer will also adversely affect the tensile properties of composite plates. |
