| With the rapid development of China’s society and economy,the situation of air pollution control is extremely severe and has become an important social problem in China.The society need for the long-term good air quality.In 2004,Nanjing successfully held the Youth Olympic Games.During that time,the atmospheric environment of Nanjing has been substantially improved and it proved that Nanjing has ability to effectively control the air pollution.The author compares the air pollution control practices and air quality of Nanjing during and after the Youth Olympic Games.The thesis focuses on three key factors of air pollution control:the principal part,the development of system and duration of the achievements.It was found that during the air pollution control,the government plays an outstanding role and most of the companies are just to follow policy.The analysis revealed,there are three key problems in Nanjing’s air pollution control after the Youth Olympic Games.Firstly,air pollution is widespread.Secondly,it is difficult to control pollution at its source.Thirdly,under the government’s follow-up,there will be a short period of good air conditions,but that is not stable.The main reason is that at present,the participation of different subjects in society is not be inspired and the contradictions between economic development and environmental improvement are not be solved.Furth more,a systematized air pollution control practices have not finished yet.Air pollution control is a long-term project,which is highly systematic and comprehensive.In the post-Youth Olympic Games period,the author suggests that Nanjing should improve and optimize air pollution control from four aspects.Firstly,pay more attention to control air pollution at the source.Secondly,build a cooperate governance system of multi-agent participation.Thirdly,set up a comprehensive,long-term system of laws,regulations and policy.Fourthly,establish a normal mechanism for the prevention and control of air pollution. |
