In recent years, with the development of Chinese shipping industry and marine trade, ship emissions have increasingly become an important source of emission contributions. The key components such as nitrogen oxides?NOX?,sulfur oxides?SO2?,and particulate matter?PM?in ship emissions have increased air pollution in ports and coastal areas, riskded the healthy lives of coastal and inland residents and the sustainable development of the ecological environment. It is one of the key and difficult points in the prevention and control of air pollution in coastal cities in China. The key work for the prevention and control of ship emissions pollution mainly lies in the establishment of the ship emissions inventory. At present, the methods for establishing ship emissions inventory are mainly divided into top-down and bottom-up methods. The mainstream method is combining the Automatic Identification System?AIS?data and power-based method to characterize ship emissions. The main limitations of the current ship emissions inventory researchs are that most researchs remain at static inventory level, failing to achieve dynamic ship emissions characterization, resulting in a certain time-lag;at the same time, the error and lack of AIS ship trajectory data lead to incorrect identification of ship activity characteristics and dynamic characterization errors in ship emissions.Focusing on the above research limitations, this research builds a dynamic ship emissions inventory establishment method based on AIS data, which integrates database integration and supplementation,AIS data dynamic processing, dynamic emissions characterization, retroactive correction, and emission verification. The effect of retroactive correction of dynamic ship emissions on ship emission characterization is analyzed. After comparing and verifying the dynamic ship emissions inventory with the traditional ship emissions inventory in three aspects:ship emission characteristics and composition, temporal and spatial distribution characteristics, and ship emission characteristics in special meteorological conditions, the dynamic ship emissions inventory establishment method is applied to establish and analyze the 2017 Chinese dynamic ship emissions inventory to improve the accuracy and fineness of ship emissions characterization. The research results show that:?1?The dynamic ship emission inventory establishment method based on AIS data can complete the characterization of AIS data emissions of a time step 10 minutes?20,000 rows?in 2 minutes, with high timeliness. The error between dynamic method and traditional high-precision method is 10%to 20%.The dynamic method is reliable, can accurately characterize the temporal and spatial differences of ship emissions, and has high adaptability to different research scales;?2?Retroactive correction of the AIS trajectory can effectively improve the accuracy and fineness of ship emissions characterization, supplement the small area AIS ship trajectory points by more than 10 times and ship emissions by more than 3 times, and remove the error of emissions time distribution caused by the missing AIS trajectory;?3?The total estimated ship emissions for China in 2017 were 9.07×105t?SO2?,1.46As for emission control area, ship emissions in BSA?Bohai Sea Area?,YRD?Yangtze River Delta?and PRD?Pearl River Delta?accounted for about 15%,21%and 9%.?4?The impacts of holidays on ship emissions were generally about 10%to 20%,and special weather conditions may cut down 10%to 50%of regional ship emissions.Typhoon Hato and Typhoon Pakhar led to 23%and 15%reductions in Chinese ship emissions,74%and 67%in the PRD and 75%and68%in Hong Kong. The establishment method of dynamic ship emissions inventory can effectively quantify the impact of holidays and special weather conditions on ship emissions.
