Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)have become another air pollutant after particulates,sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides.The development of effective methods for VOCs control is a hot research topic.Adsorption method is widely used because of its high efficiency,stable effect and low energy consumption.The industry exhaust often contains a lot of water vapor,which greatly weakens the adsorption performance of the adsorbents for VOCs.Polar adsorbents for VOCs adsorption,such as activated carbon and zeolite,are greatly affected by water vapor under high humidity conditions,resulting in a sharp decline in VOCs adsorption capacity.Therefore,much attention has been paid to the development of porous materials which can maintain excellent VOCs adsorption performance in high humidity environment.In this paper,it is found that the adsorption capacity of a hydrogen storage material for VOCs still has excellent adsorption performance in a high water vapor content atmosphere,hardly affected by water vapor.Therefore,some low-cost industrial raw materials were used as monomers to prepare porous polymer materials with high specific surface area and high hydrophobicity by this method.Different from the Soxhlet extraction method used in the literature,ultrasonic treatment is adopted in this study,which is fast,and the energy consumption is small,and the process and equipment are simple.In order to explore the influence of water vapor on the VOCs adsorption process of the organic polymer,toluene and ethyl acetate were used as the target pollutants,and the adsorption properties were tested under the conditions of RH=0%and RH=90%.Meanwhile,commercial hyper-cross-linked polymer NDA-150 and three kinds of activated carbon were selected for comparison.The materials were characterized by IR,elemental analysis,solid NMR,thermal analysis,N2 sorption isotherms,pore size distribution,water contact angle measurement and other characterization methods,revealing the structure-activity relationship between the structure and performance of the porous polymer adsorbents.The results show that AC-3,which has good adsorption properties for toluene and ethyl acetate at RH=0%,has a sharp decline at RH=90%.While P(BS-FDA)-1,a porous polymer prepared with toluene as monomer,has excellent adsorption properties for toluene and ethyl acetate at RH=90%.In addition,the materials prepared in this paper were regenerated by ultrasonic regeneration technology.The results of regeneration performance test show that after eight times of regeneration,the regeneration efficiency is still above 85%,which shows that ultrasonic regeneration has good feasibility for the material.In order to realize the engineering application,this paper carried on the scale-up test of the material.In the process of scale-up test,by improving the reaction equipment,stirring impeller and changing the heating rate,the product after 15 times of scale-up still has good adsorption performance.Moreover,the powder products prepared in this paper will cause the problem of excessive wind resistance in the application process,so the coating forming method was proposed,and the effects of adhesive type,adhesive concentration and resin concentration on the coating process were explored.The results show that the toluene removal rate of coating material can reach 98.7%when the content of PVP is 0.9%and the resin concentration is 9%.
