Design Of Modern Seat Based On The Wisdom Of "Tangram" In Ancient China

"Tangram",a traditional Chinese intellectual toy,can be created into various forms through different creative combinations.Seats,commonly found in indoor and outdoor spaces from every household to public places,are daily necessities for people.At present,there are many kinds and styles of seats in the market,but those which fully utilize the wisdom of the "tangram" and integrate the functions of module combination,rotation deformation and hidden storage are rare to find.Therefore,how to fully excavate the wisdom of"tangram" and apply it to the design of modern tools for sitting to create products with various forms and functions has become an important subject for designers to think and study.The subject of this paper is the design of modern seat based on the wisdom of "tangram" in ancient China.First of all,the paper reviews the domestic and foreign research status of the "tangram" design by the method of data collection and establishes the foothold and innovation point;Secondly,it combs the "tangram" systematically,including its basic overview and wisdom;Thirdly,it describes the research on modern seats,which collects detailed information of user preferences in terms of styles,shapes,colors and materials by the design research method and calculates the optimal dimensions of seat height,seat depth,seat width and backrest inclination based on ergonomics;Finally,it combines the wisdom of "tangram" with modern seats and comes up with schemes of three distinctive seats:"combination type" for public places,"storage type" for leisure of single people,and "fun type" for children,meeting the needs of different usage scenarios and user groups.The research results of this paper have reference value for the design of modern seats,provide reference for the design of similar furniture products,and create new ideas for the modern innovation and transformation of other Chinese traditional objects,which has certain practical significance.
