Environmental Behaviors And Driving Factors Of Farmhouses

The rapid rise and large-scale expansion of farmhouses have brought great challenges to the rural ecological environment,and even become the main source of environmental pollution in rural tourism destinations,which seriously restricts the sustainable development of rural ecological environment and tourism.As a main form of rural tourism enterprises,the farmhouse has the characteristics of large quantity,wide distribution,and high pollution.Exploring the characteristics and identifying the driving factors of the farmhouse's environmental behavior are of great value and significance for promoting the effective implementation of the farmhouse's environmental behavior and the sustainable development of rural tourism.The neglect of domestic scholars for environmental behaviors of non-star accommodation enterprises has led to the lag of research on environmental behaviors of the farmhouse.Therefore,it is of certain urgency and innovation to conduct research on the farmhouse's environmental behaviors.Taking the farmhouse in Wuyuan County of Jiangxi Province as the research object,this paper comprehensively analyzed the characteristics and driving factors of the farmhouse's environmental behaviors based on qualitative and quantitative methods.The study found that:(1)The environmental behaviors of the farmhouse can be measured from four aspects:production environmental behavior,management environmental behavior,service environmental behavior,and learning environmental behavior.And the operators attach much attention to the implementation of environmental behaviors in the process of service and abide by the standards of environmental behaviors in the process of production and management,but ignore the accumulation of environmental knowledge.(2)There is no obvious difference in the environmental behaviors of farmhouses with different property rights types and operating time,while the environmental behaviors of farmhouses with different management scales is significantly different,specifically,the environmental behaviors of larger farmhouses is more positive.(3)The driving factors of the farmhouse's environmental behaviors can be summarized as internal and external driving factors.The internal driving factors mainly refer to environmental awareness,cognition of consequences,responsibility attribution,and interest concerns.The external driving factors include the environmental management of government and community.(4)Responsibility attribution and environmental management are the main driving factors for the implementation of the farmhouse's environmental behaviors.The effect of environmental management on the farmhouse's environmental behaviors is the twice as responsibility attribution.Environmental awareness,cognition of consequences,and interest concerns have a significant positive correlation with the environmental behaviors of farmhouses,but their effect on the farmhouse's environmental behaviors is weak.Based on the conclusions above,this article proposes countermeasures and suggestions for the management of the farmhouse's environmental behaviors:(1)Cultivating the ability of the farmhouse to actively learn environmental knowledge,and enhancing the endogenous motivation of the farmhouse's environmental behaviors;(2)Make the full use of the guiding role of government departments and non-governmental organizations to promote the scale effect of environmental behaviors of farmhouses;(3)Implement environmental behaviors management methods for farmhouses based on policy norms and supplemented by community management;(4)Adapt to local conditions and explore environmental behaviors management model under the background of multiple motivations for farmhouses.
