Since the PDC bit came out in the mid-1970 s,because of its rapid drilling speed, long service life, high reliability and remarkable comprehensive benefit,it has been widely used in oil and natural gas in the world.Drilling engineering in geothermal development and other fields has been more and more widely used. The drilling period of this gas field has been greatly reduced because of the rapid progress of drilling level through continuous technical research. However, the usage of single bit is still large, and the single bit feeding and mechanical drilling speed are still low, which results in higher bit cost and higher drilling cost. Therefore,it is necessary to put more effort into the study of PDC bits suitable for the region. In order to further accelerate the speed of gas exploration and development, reduce drilling investment, and make the speed of natural gas exploration and development to a new level. In this project, the formation lithology and bit usage of each well in the eastern block of Yanchang gas field are investigated and synthetically analyzed.According to the formation lithology and the bit data used,A personalized PDC bit suitable for prolonging each layer in the eastern block of the gas field has been developed.Through the field test of six wells, according to the application situation and the wear grade of the bit,the problems existing in the use of the bit are analyzed, and the application technology of the PDC bit is summed up in time. And the bit was modified. Finally,a complete set of PDC bit application technology is formed to improve the drilling speed in prolonging the gas field area and to achieve the purpose of increasing the speed and improving the efficiency.
