As the advanced manufacturing industry steps forward,the high-intelligence and high value-added automation equipment industry have become an independent and massive industry in China.The strategies and the structures of the "advanced manufacturing" and "ecological manufacturing" have been developed as the significant parts of automation manufacturing.However,the ecological efficiency of such an industry has rarely been reported,perhaps due to the use of the secondary energy and the complexity and vast variety of products,as well as its relatively insignificant emissions.Along with the tightening regulations on the environmental protection,and for the purpose of promoting the sustainable development of the industry,the eco-efficiency of the automation industry should be investigated urgently,and a set of environmental management performance evaluation systems should be established.Based on the literature review and a substantial study on the theories for the environmental performance evaluation,and with a focus on the core concept of eco-efficiency,the characteristics of the technological process of the automation equipment manufacturing industry are analyzed,and its environmental factors and risk points are identified.As to company L,a relevant evaluation is carried out,according to the ecological efficiency evaluation theory and environmental risk related regulations.The factors and risk points of the automation equipment manufacturing industry are identified in the study.The analytic hierarchy process,fuzzy comprehensive analysis method,and expert scoring methods are used to establish a comprehensive environmental evaluation system,into which the Eco-efficiency index is innovatively incorporated.Implemented via a Python software,this eco-efficiency-based environmental performance evaluation system,together with its weight factors,are in good agreement with the real situations of the industry.The applicability and reliability of the evaluation system of this paper is verified through the environment merit evaluation of company L by using the criteria generated from this study.The excellent eco-efficiency performance of the company is proved according to the evaluation.Management gaps are identified and suggestions are raised for company L for its environmental performance improvement.
