With the rapid development of transportation,traffic accidents occur more and more frequently,and fatigue driving has been acknowledged as a major risk factor in road accidents.With about 20%of road accidents caused by fatigue,fatigue driving intervention becomes an important research direction in the field of automotive active safety.This topic relies on the funding of the Self-made Experimental Equipment Project of Yangzhou University Research on Smart Seat and Active Safety System of Passenger Car Based on Posture Recognition' and Yangzhou University Postgraduate Research&Practice Innovation Program of Jiangsu Province' Active Safety Improvement System based on Real Vehicle Simulated Driving'.The main research work around 'Development of Real Vehicle Experimental Platform for Driving Fatigue Identification and Intervention and Rresearch on Scent Intervention Technology' is as follows:The causes of fatigue driving and its impact on driving behavior were analyzed.The research ideas and methods of driving fatigue identification based on eye characteristics,electrocardiogram(ECG),electroencephalogram(EEG),electromyogram(EMG)and vehicle driving characteristics,and fatigue driving intervention through scent,sound,vibration,cold air and back cushion angle controlling were proposed.The theoretical principle for the research on the effectiveness and effect of fatigue driving intervention countermeasures is laid.The real vehicle experimental platform for driving fatigue identification and intervention was developed.This platform consists of a driving simulator system,a driving fatigue identification system and a driving fatigue intervention system.In the driving simulator system,the motherboard and display system of EASY TO DRIVE STAR is retained,and an embedded system is added.The electric jacks supporting the car chassis is controlled by the drive circuit to simulate road vibration.The steering wheel angle signal is collected by a six-axis accelerometer and converted by the embedded system to match the output signal of the original system.In the driving fatigue identification system,the camera,accelerometer,electrocardiograph,electroencephalograph and electromyograph are combined to identify driving fatigue.The driving fatigue intervention system focuses on the scent intervention,meanwhile,various interventions,namely sound,vibration,cold air,back cushion angle controlling are available.It has been verified that simulated driving in the real vehicle environment,information collection of the driver's mental state,and various interventions for fatigue driving can be achieved.Fatigue driving identification experiments were performed on the developed real vehicle experimental platform.The subjective sleepiness before and after the driving task,from the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale,shows significant differences,verified by paired-sample T-test.The collected EEG data in the temporal lobe was denoised,and the average densities of power spectrum of the ? wave,? wave,? wave and ? wave in each period were calculated through integration.Subsequently,the EEG indicators,R(?,?),R?/(?+?)and R(?+?)/(?+?)were obtained.The difference of each EEG indicator between before and after driving task was analyzed by paired-sample T-test.The significantly changed R(?/?),with high similarity to subjective sleepiness results,was initially identified as the fatigue driving identification index,which laid the foundation for further research on scent intervention for fatigue driving.Through the developed real vehicle experimental platform,the research on the effect of scent intervention on fatigue driving was carried out.Based on the analysis of previous studies,three scents of mint,grapefruit and lavender were selected.Firstly,subjective sleepiness questionnaire analysis was performed.The KSS scores before and after scent intervention were analyzed by paired-sample T-test,which shows that mint,grapefruit and lavender scents have a positive effect on fatigue driving intervention.The fatigue identification index R(?/?)under the intervention of different scents was analyzed by paired-sample T-test,which shows that all three scents have a positive effect on reducing fatigue driving.And at 2 minutes of scent intervention,the effect of the grapefruit scent is most significant,while the effect of the lavender scent is more persistent.ANOVA for repeated measures analysis results of R(?/?)within 10 minutes after odor intervention show that the three scent types have no significant difference in relieving fatigue driving.The interaction between treatment effects and time effect are significant,and the time effect is significant,too.
