Polyetheretherketone(PEEK),as one of the outstanding members of the poly(aryl ether ketone)based polymers,is another excellent thermoplastic resin after fluoroplastics.PEEK fiber is prepared through melt spinning of polyetheretherketone resin at high temperature.It has excellent mechanical properties,high temperature resistance,chemical resistance,flame retardancy,radiation resistance,high electrical insulation,and dimensional stability.PEEK fibers are classified into monofilaments and multifilaments,and their current forms for applications include conveyor belts,rope strings,filter cloths,medical materials,composite materialsand so on.It has been successfully applied in high-tech fields such as aerospace,nuclear energy,information,communication,electronics,petrochemical,machinery manufacturing,and automobiles.At present,there are few reports on polyetheretherketone fiber composite paper,and most of the research focuses on aramid composite paper,polyimide composite paper,and carbon fiber composite paper.These special fiber papers with high-performances can be used in the fields of insulation,heat resistance,corrosion resistance,flame retardancy,etc.,and are widely used in electrical and electronic,aerospace,industrial production and so on.The key challenge in the preparation of polyetheretherketone fiber composite paper is the poor solubility of polyetheretherketone,and it is impossible to directly taking use of solvents to prepare the solution of polyetheretherketone Therefore,we expect to prepare polyetheretherketone composite paper by a reversible reaction.This thesis discussed the preparation,structure and properties of polyetheretherketone fiber composite paper.Polyetheretherketone fiber was used as the main component.and aramid pulp was used as the binding fiber.Different binders were impregnated in solution to prepare two kinds of polyetheretherketone composite papers separately including phenolic resin and polyimide,and its structure and properties were fully characterized.Different from the traditional process of papermaking,the polyetheretherketone fiber composite paper was filtered in vacuumto obtain a base paper containing polyetheretherketone fiber and aramid pulp,and then impregnated with resin solution and hot pressed to obtain a polyetheretherketone composite paper finally.Different conditions including fiber lengths,pulp content,impregnation concentration and hot-pressing process made differences in polyetheretherketone fiber composite paper.The properties of five kinds of polyetheretherketone composite papers prepared from different lengths of polyetheretherketone chopped fibers and different contents of aramid pulp were discussed here through filtered in vacuum.The studies showed that the comprehensive performance was better when the length of fiber was 4 mm and the content of aramid pulp was 9%.By the coMParison between commercial water-soluble phenolic resin and low molecular weight polyimide binder,the effects on the structure and properties of polyetheretherketone composite paper and the advantages and disadvantages coming from their impregnation concentrations and hot-pressing process were discussed.A soluble poly(arylene ether ketal)was prepared,wherein the reaction intermediate PEEK-1,3-Dioxolane could be impregnated with solution together with PEEK fiber composite base paper and could be ketal hydrolyzed back to polyetheretherketone.The self-made poly(aryl ether ketal)was more excellent in temperature resistance and could be reduced to the crystalline polyetheretherketone by hydrolysis under concentrated hydrochloric acid.It provided a new way for the preparation of polyetheretherketone fiber composite paper.The polyetheretherketone self-reinforced PEEK fiber composite paper was obtained by this way,and the influences on the properties of poly(arylene ether ketal)coming from the length of polyetheretherketone chopped fiber,the content of aramid pulp,the impregnation concentration of PEEK-1,3-Dioxolane and the hot-pressing process were discussed,meanwhile,the properties of PEEK fiber composite paper was characterized.
