The development of modern technologies requires new structural materials that exceed traditional materials in strength, elasticity and other properties. The main class of materials that meet stringent requirements is composite material.Composites are made of reinforcing fibers and matrix materials.Carbon fibre reinforced resin matrix composites(CFRP)is an important compound in the composites. It has high performance properties and has the advantages of light weight. It is widely used in the aerospace,c onstruction, automotive industry.Polyether ether ketone(PEEK)is a high-strength thermoplastic of the new generation with excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties.PEEK has unique properties that allow it to be used in mechanisms and products with high technical requirements. The addition of carbon fiber to PEEK significantly improves the properties of pure PEEK,increasing its antifriction properties, mechanical strength, wear resistance, hardness, dimensional stability, and other especially important material properties. The carbon-reinforced PEEK composites have already demonstrated their usefulness in the fuselage, satellite components and other aerospace structures.Braided composite material is a new type of composite material. It has good construction, high automation efficiency, low cost and good reliability, good impact resistance, good performance against delamination and creep resistance.Complex components can be made by casting. Therefore, the study o f composite materials woven from carbon fibers and PEEK is very important. In this work, carbon fiber and PEEK were used as the main experimental materials. The composite fibers were obtained by the method of two-dimensional simple weaving.Composites of carbon fiber and PEEK were obtained by molding. The wettability of carbon fiber and PEEK was analyzed using a high temperature contact angle test.Using mechanical tests, the strength of the composites was determined. The surface morphology and microstructure of the composites were observed over the super deep depth of the field using SEM.Infrared spectroscopy FT-IR was used to analyze the structure of composites. The thermal properties of the composites were analyzed using DSC,TG and DMA.The aging resistance of the composites was analyzed using experiments on hot and wet aging. The wetting contact angle of carbon fiber and PEEK under various temperature conditions was measured using a contact angle test at high temperature. It was found that the wetting effect was best at 375 °C.The composite material has the best adhesion effect between the layers.Three types of composite materials were prepared, which were 58%,66% and 70%,respectively.Super depth of field and SEM were used to analyze the morphology of composites. The results of mechanical testing of composites with three resin contents were determined. The cross-section around the carbon fiber with a resin mass fraction of 66% is uniformly coated with resin. The effect of impregnation and the e ffect of interlayer adhesion between them are good.According to DSC,TG and DMA data and in combination with the results of testing composites for wet thermal aging,it was found that the tensile strength of composites decreases under conditions of high temperature and high humidity(with increase of temperature and humidity),but mechanical strength and thermal stability can still be maintained.Tensile strength can retain 93% of the original strength, which indicates the excellent mechanical properties of the composite under these conditions.Composite material with a mass fraction of 66% PEEK resin has the best mechanical properties. |
