Application Research Of Plant Image In The Design Of Pension Furniture

With the continuous increase of China’s aging population,the issue of elderly care must be taken seriously.In the context of the increasingly revival of Chinese culture,furniture design is no longer limited to the completion of only the practical functions of furniture,more and more Chinese cultural elements are injected into the design.People also pay more attention to the spiritual connotation of furniture.The cultural accumulation carried by plant images is an important part of Chinese culture,and it also provides rich materials for the design of senior furniture.This article studies the relationship between the plant image in traditional culture and the design of senior furniture through three parts.Firstly,the elderly’s physiological and psychological requirements for the design of elderly furniture are analyzed,and corresponding design ideas and methods are proposed for these needs.Secondly,it systematically combed the development and influence of plant images in traditional Chinese culture and related fields,and summarized and sorted out some of the more influential plant images.From the relationship between the beauty of plant image and the beauty of implication and the design of old-age furniture,the possibility of applying plant image to the design of old-age furniture is discussed.Combining the application methods of plant imagery on classical and modern furniture,three design methods are summarized,including plant pattern as plane decoration symbol,plant structure shape as furniture main component,and plant imagery as overall furniture modeling.Finally,taking the psychological and physiological needs of the elderly as the basis of the design,a comprehensive analysis of the plant image element suitable for old-age furniture-Ganoderma lucidum,was applied to the practice of old-age furniture design.
