Toward The Color Overall Charateristic About Chinese Minority Costumes

Minority clothing is one of the ways that can best embody the production lifestyle,ethnic culture and aesthetic taste.Color as a typical representative,is not only the first visual element of ethnic clothing,but also an important carrier of cultural connotation and the externalization of the natural environment.Color is an integral part of the project of solving the inheritance and innovation of minority costume culture.The ethnic minorities mostly live in relatively remote frontiers or mountainous areas.The development of the industrial level is relatively slow and delayed.Most of the clothing colors are made of natural dyes taken from local sources,so the overall color having highly recognizable and the characteristics of continuous and stable curing.Basing on the characteristics of the colors of ethnic minorities,this article aims to find commonalities in the regional characteristics of ethnic minority colors,and at the same time explore commonalities and individualities in combination with ethnic cases.Grasping the macro is in order to more accurately grasp the part.The overall characteristics of ethnic dress are the organic unity of various nationalities,and each nationality is part of the overall characteristics.These two are a dialectical and unified relationship,decoding from a macro level is in order to study and master the individual at a deeper level.Basing on natural conditions and objective objects,this paper studies the regional characteristics of color changes in ethnic minority areas from the perspectives of ethnic geography,meteorology and ecology.Different from cultural studies such as religious beliefs and totem worship in case studies,even if ethnic minorities in the same area have different beliefs or cultures,they still have similarities due to their similar geographical environments and climate types.The method path studied in this paper is as follows:First,relying on ethnic geography and climatology,the distribution of 55 ethnic minorities in China is divided into five regions:Northwest,Northeast and Inner Mongolia,Qinghai-Tibet,Central and Southwest,and Southeast Coastal Regions,in order to find features and differences in the natural environment;Second,analyzing the climate,latitude and topography,production lifestyle,natural dyes and other factors in the natural environment on which the people live,and find that the influence of natural factors on the color of ethnic minorities is mainly reflected in basic colors;Furthermore,from the perspectives of history and humanities,analyze the color phenomena in which the costume colors present humanistic symbols such as religion,totem culture,and mythology,which are mainly reflected in decorative colors;Finally,based on the dialectical influence of natural and human factors on the color and decoration of ethnic minority costumes in China,this article summarizes the visual characteristics and regular relationship of the color about ethnic clothing from the origin of the influence of ethnic minority costumes in China,with the perspectives of physical and psychological attributes,craft,fabric and other angles.It is found through research that the choice of production lifestyle and plant dyes in the natural environment has a decisive influence on the basic colors of ethnic minorities' clothing,while religious beliefs in ethnic cultures have a profound effect on the decorative colors of clothing.Due to the solidified differences in natural ecology,the basic colors of ethnic minorities' clothing in the region are mutually different;because the ethnic minorities all believe in or have once believed in the natural and spiritual religion or ancestor myths and legends,which indirectly leads to the ethnic costume color Decorative colors are common.Looking at Greater China,there are similarities and differences between the colors of ethnic dresses and the five elements and five colors of the Han.The common point is that both the basic colors and the decorative colors of minority clothing are affected by the overall color characteristics of the Chinese nation,among the five major color bases;The difference lies that the color of minority costumes is more dependent on nature,while the Han people are more based on social humanities.By conducting a macro research and judgment on the color of Chinese minority costumes,hoping to provide a reference for the study of individual minority costume colors,and provide color planning references for the construction of ancient minority villages and ethnic customs gardens,optimizing and improve the overall ethnic image.
