With the rapid development of food supply chain(FSC),the scale and operation of the system become more and more large and complex.Therefore,the research on the structure of food supply chain system and the performance modeling and analysis of the system have always been the focus of food supply chain system research.Based on the advantages of performance modeling and analysis of the Performance Evaluation Process Algebra(PEPA)model,this paper uses PEPA to model and analyze the performance of the food supply chain system.This paper has carried out the following work of the performance evaluation and the analysis of the food supply chain system:(1)Build a formal model of the food supply chain,by analyzing the overall structure and operation process of the food supply chain.The FSC chain system is abstracted into interactive components,and then the PEPA model of the system is obtained.(2)Extract the performance incidence matrix of the food supply chain model.This paper has used the fluid flow approximation method to extract the important performance indexes of the response time,utilization and throughput.Based on the formal method of PEPA,this paper also proposes the action execution sequence algorithm,extracting the service flow algorithm and the response time simulation algorithm to study the supply chain system.(3)Evaluate and analyze the performance of the FSC system.The FSC system performance was evaluated and analyzed from three aspects,response time,throughput and utilization.The performance of the FSC system will be evaluated through the effect on system performance metrics of parameter settings such as different consumer numbers,different activity rates,and different component numbers.The framework and method of performance modeling and evaluation of food supply chain system provided in this paper can be used to guide the resource allocation and operation management of the system,so as to improve the working efficiency and service quality of the supply chain system.
