Abstract/Summary:
With the development of horizontal well drilling technology,and the widespread use of highly deviated and horizontal wells,array laterolog tool plays an important role in the exploration and development of oil and gas because of its high resolution and rich resistivity information.Therefore,it is necessary to study the response of array laterolog tool in complex borehole conditions and environmental factors,which can help obtain the true formation resistivity and evaluate the formation accurately.In this paper,according to the principle of array laterolog tool,ANSYS finite element software is used for the forward numerical simulation of array laterolog tool.Firstly,response of array laterolog tool is influenced by the borehole,formation thickness and drilling filtrate invasion in the vertical well,and the corresponding logging characteristics are studied;Secondly,response of array laterolog tool is calculated in the highly deviated well and horizontal well,which is influenced by environmental factors such as formation thickness,drilling filtrate invasion and so on,its laws is summed up;Finally,apparent resistivity correction charts which use the traditional well log correction method are made to reduce the influences of borehole and formation thickness/surrounding rock,in this way the true resistivity of the formation can be obtained,this paper sets up a theoretical foundation for accurate log interpretation and formation evaluation.
