From the middle period of the 18 th century to the beginning of the 19 th century,the Thirteen-Hongs of Guangzhou was the only trading port for western countries to trade with China.The Thirteen-Hongs merchants were the commercial monopoly organization of foreign trade at that time.At that time,all import and export goods had to pass through the ThirteenHongs of Guangzhou during the period of the Qing Dynasty's closed-door policy.The export ceramic packaging in the period of Thirteen-Hongs was the packaging of all the ceramics material transported to western countries for sale through the Thirteen-Hongs of Guangzhou during the "One-port-foreign-trade" period of Qing Dynasty(1685-1842).These export ceramic packages belong to one kind of export ceramics in term of the big category,but they are different from the general export ceramics,they not only have the aesthetic,collection and historical research value of export ceramic artworks,but also have the practical value of convenient storage and transportation,protection of products and beautification of contents.This paper takes the export ceramics material packaging in the Thirteen-Hongs period as the research object.Firstly,from the perspective of sociology and economics,it analyzes the political,economic,cultural and ceramic industry development background of China and the west in the export period,and combs its role and influence in the cultural communication between China and the west.Then according to the classification method of material science,the paper clarifies them based on the different quality of the fetus,glaze material and decorative processing technology.Finally combining with the practical cases,from the perspective of design and art specifically,this paper summaries and analyzes its practical function,design characteristics and aesthetic characteristics.Through the analysis of historical review,we can learn from the past and look back on the present,use the internal and external causes of the hot sales of Chinese ceramic packaging in western countries during the period of Thirteen-Hongs to enlighten us how to make excellent Chinese packaging design under the background of globalization,and expected to make it better sold globally,and to improve the current situation of China's sluggish liquor exports.In the design of the scheme,first conduct a market research on China's medium and highend export liquor packaging,summarize and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of its current design,and then through brand positioning and user research,drawing lessons from the design concept of the export ceramic packaging of The Thirteen-Hongs,a series of useroriented,humanized,sustainable,culturally featured and experiential export ceramic packaging of liquor has been designed.Design scheme's brand name is "Mandarin" of the design elements of exporting ceramic packaging.Referring to semiotics design method of armorial porcelain,the paper selects representative patter and the traditional auspicious pattern of The Thirteen-Hongs in Guangzhou,reconstructs and designs the exclusive emblem of The Thirteen-Hongs as the main body's packing decoration picture,extracts Lingnan's ancient culture and the modeling elements as the ceramic bottle's outer packaging,and innovates the structure of the outer packing and open way.The scheme is divided into two sub-series,a set is designed for the high-end business occasion,named for the Mandarin "royal wine",another set is designed for high-end social gatherings,named as "delight wine",finally a set of special wine set is designed for the drinking scene,in order to improve the whole set of packaging culture and experience,looking forward to better promote Chinese liquor culture and the culture of The Thirteen-Hongs in Guangzhou and ceramic packaging culture.
