Since the entry of human society into the 21 st century, countries around the world have no longer blindly pursued the rapid development of the economy, and gradually turned their attention to environmental issues. The countries of the world are no longer in exchange for the rapid development of the economy at the expense of the destruction of the global environment. The theme of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Economics is related to the long-term sustainable development of the economy. At present, countries around the world attach great importance to the sustainable development of the economy. And in September 2015,the United Nations held a sustainable development summit in New York,USA,and its 193 member states formally adopted 17 sustainable development goals at the summit. On the other hand,China and South Korea started negotiations on the free trade area in 2012.In December 2015,the China-South Korea Free Trade Area Agreement came into effect, and the formal implementation of the tariff reduction plan between China and South Korea will realize a new round of rapid development. The rapid development of trade will also make the carbon emissions exposed in the trade process more significant. As the scale of trade between China and South Korea expands, the scale of carbon emissions will naturally expand. In this context, the 2004-2009-2014 bilateral non-competitive international input-output table was compiled using the 2004-2009-2014 international input-output table provided by the WIOD database, combined with the carbon emission data in the EORA database.Calculate the direct and complete carbon emission coefficients of various sectors of the two countries, and calculate the embodied carbon of trade between the two countries based on the coefficients. The study found that the total carbon emissions of trade between China and South Korea showed an upward trend year by year from 2004 to 2014.The carbon emission coefficient of various sectors in China is significantly higher than that of South Korea,China is a net exporter of embodied carbon emission in bilateral trade.,while South Korea is a net importer of embodied carbon.Among them, export embodied carbon emissions from korea to China in 2004-2009 increased significantly, and export embodied carbon emissions from China to South Korea in 2009-2014 increased significantly. Then, according to the SDA model, the driving factors of China-Korea trade embodied carbon change are decomposed into three factors: internal technical factors, trade structure factors and trade scale factors. The study found that during the period of 2004-2014,the scale of trade mainly promoted the growth of embodied carbon emissions of trade between China and South Korea. The internal technical factors mainly inhibited the growth of embodied carbon emissions of trade between the two countries, and the impact of the trade structure factor in this decade to the embodied carbon emissions of trade between the two countries is not significant. Finally, based on the analysis of the calculation and driving factors of the embodied carbon in bilateral trade between China and South Korea, the corresponding policy recommendations are proposed.First, improve the energy efficiency in the production process of the various sectors of China and South Korea.Secondly, strengthen the reduction of emissions in the production process of the various sectors of the two countries;finally, rationally optimize and adjust the industrial structure and trade structure of the two countries.
