In recent years,the domestic social environment has been changing continuously and consumers' demand has been updated constantly,which depressed the traditional market of garment industry in China and aggravated overstocked garments.Under such circumstances,this thesis focuses on overstocked issue of garment industry through deep research on overstocked products and characteristics of social environment in China at this stage,analyzes overstocked products including their types and characteristics,and emerging consumer demand in clothing,and finally proposes a redesign system of overstocked garments based on redesign methods.This thesis aims at exploring an effective way to transform overstocked garments into new fashion ones to meet new market environment and demand trend,and to alleviate the pressure of overstock in the garment market,promoting the transformation and development of traditional garment enterprises.Firstly,this thesis consists of three main parts based on literature analysis and market research.The current social environment in China characterized elements including cultural diversity,trend diversity and aesthetic uniqueness.With analysis social and cultural background of Chinese development,this thesis studies on the new trend of customers' demand from garment industry which pays attention to culture and identity of commodities,that is,emphasizing on the symbolic meaning,added value and innovative design.Study on these elements and phenomenon could provide reference for the redesign and development of overstocked products.Meanwhile,Research on the redesign methods of clothing and relative cases in market could offer methods for the later study of the redesign of inventory clothing.Moreover,the relationship between inventory products and society,market,industry and brand is analyzed from three aspects: causes,essential characteristics and impacts.Then,the analysis of common stocked garment products in the current market is summarized into four basic types: short-term apparel product inventory,long-term apparel product inventory,store sales apparel product inventory and online sales apparel product inventory.Secondly,on this foundation,this thesis integrates the redesign and development of overstocked products with diversified new market demand and diversified cultural behavior and puts forward three strategies of overstocked garment redesign.Based on the redesign of individualized demand,cultural element is injected into redesign,leading to redesigning function constructed and redesigning system of overstocked garment products established on this basis.by such system,the analysis and collation of overstocked garment and mining potential redesign possibilities could be combined with the new social environment,so as to form a variety of redesign schemes,which essence is to change the design perspective.Along with system analysis,this thesis peels off the original attributes of overstocked product and seeks to give redesigning a unique and brand-new form of expression in the new environment,so as to explore an effective way to develop the original overstocked garment products as new fashion ones and realize the injection of new fashion into the original ones.Then we could achieve the goal of fully digesting overstocked commodities in a redesigned way.Finally,there are two different types of cases chosen to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the system.Case 1: Choosing men's shirts of long-term overstocked products as the designing objects to meet the new needs of the target customers with new lifestyles;Case 2:Choosing store overstocked products as the designing objects to create a series of garment products to meet the consumption demand of target customers and sale online.It has been proved that the system has certain feasibility and effectiveness in application of the two cases.Therefore,the redesign system is established based on comparison and analysis of the overstocked data,extraction of redesigning parameters.At last a set of parameters is formed,combined with different designing objectives to form new popular products.Under the background of digitalization,the system can be used to quantitatively analyze the data and trend of overstocked products,which could provide theoretical basis for the accurate design of new products in the following stage so that quantified information can be recombined and redesigned.When new popular products being formed this way,the transformation and effective digestion of overstocked garment products could be realized.Therefore,the redesign system is established based on comparing and analyzing the inventory product data,extracting redesign parameters,forming a set of parameters,combining different design function objectives to form fashionable new products.Under the background of digitalization,the system can quantitatively analyze the inventory apparel information,and provide theoretical basis for the accurate design of new products at the later stage,so that the quantified information can be recombined and redesigned to form fashionable new products,and finally realize the transformation of inventory products to new products.
