Large-scale thin-walled components in the aerospace industry,are key components to meet the overall assembly quality requirements and special aerodynamic shape requirements.Shot peening process has good adaptability and superiority.However,the traditional shot peening technique also increases the difficulty and efficiency of processing because of its bulky shot blasting device,noisy processing sound,difficulty in controlling the impact velocity of the shot and complicated recovery method of shots.In this paper,the Flexible rotary peen forming(FRPF)is proposed,which is trying to improve the problems in the processing of traditional shot peening equipment,and the forming efficiency and quality of the sheet.According to the functional conversion relationship between the shots and the plate,the trajectory of the shots in the impact process and the shot's impacting model are established.According to the distribution of induced stress inside the plate,combined with the mechaunical analysis to establish the induced force of the plate and the equivalent bending moment method,the overall deformation curvature of the plate is further obtained.Based on FRPF's principles and characteristics,the finite element(FE)model of the single-shot impacting process and multiple-shot impacting process are established with ABAQUS analysis software.According to the combination of theoretical analysis and simulation,the influence of different parameters of FRPF on the shape of pit profile is studied.The influence of pit shape size and plate deformation is studied.The conclusions of the study have obtained the influence of different parameters on the deformation of the plate,and provide a theoretical basis for the practical application of the FRPF for aspherical sheet metal,which has important theo retical and practical engineering significance.The experimental platform was built to carry out the FRPF experience.The three-way component force of the plate during the forming process,the residual stress of the formed part and the surface topography data of the plate were compared with the analytical value and the simulated value.The accuracy of theoretical analysis and FE simulation is verified.
