Product quality is well-known as the most important competitive advantage for manufactories.After the recent decade of consistent growth,the tobacco industry is facing her inflection point.Being one of the largest tax payer,however,the tax policy remains harsh on the tobacco industry.Hence,new requirements have been raised for the existing tobacco enterprises.On one hand,tobacco companies have to improve their ability to research and develop constantly so as to provide fresh personal touch to satisfy a wide difference in tastes.On the other hand,equipment efficiency and product quality have to be enhanced to reduce costs and improve revenue.S Cigarette Plant,subsidiary of A China tobacco co.,has her shortcomings in both equipment management and product quality control.Work needs to be improved in facility maintenance so that product quality can be assured while productivity improved.Depending on the existing circumstances of S Cigarette Plant,this paper provides improving advices on the mode of facility maintenance.The main advices cover several aspects as followed.An analysis is carried out using PFMEA to discover the defects and risks in centralized maintenance mode.A rotational maintenance mode is brought up to cope with risk control,which is proved to be more reasonable and effective.A feedback mechanism for quality data is established,in which analyses using normal distribution and Pareto diagram are applied while connections between quality data and the equipment state are reflected.Which makes it possible to find out the outliers' existence and whereabout judging from the fluctuations in quality data.Corrective and preventive actions can be taken during the equipment maintenance to reduce equipment failures along with improving the pertinence and effectiveness.This paper introduces a workable improving method to bring up production efficiency and to maintain stability of product quality.In the meantime,a way to discover and to deal with potential problems from equipment,according to the fluctuations in quality data,is also provided.
