Since 1980 s,due to the perfect combination of the domestic reform and opening-up policy and the unstoppable wave of globalization,China has developed rapidly during the adjustment of global resource reallocation and has become one of the countries that benefited the most from the wave of globalization.However,the global financial crisis in 2008 caused the global economy to suffer setbacks,and the globalization process was blocked.Having developed rapidly for more than 30 years,Chinese economy affected by the aftereffects of the external financial crisis,and the domestic economic development had reached the bottleneck stage.In this context,the new economic normal with Chinese characteristics came into being.On November 9th 2014,President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the APEC Business Leader Summit in Beijing,pointing out the main features of the China’s new normal.Since then,the "China’s new normal" is the code word to describe China’s current economic situation.In order to achieve the great goal of building a comprehensive well-off society,based on the new international and domestic environment,the Party Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core proposed a "Four overall" strategic layout,indicated that the reform of the economic system is the focus of the comprehensive deepening reform.In connection with the new economic characteristics of industrial structure upgrading and innovation-driven economy,we can know that the domestic enterprises will face a new environment based on economic openness,innovation-driven engine,and industrial structure upgrading.As a leading enterprise of heavy calcium carbonate industry in western China,Company G must comply with the macroeconomic policy guidance in the face of such a new economic environment,commit to the upgrading of calcium carbonate industrial chain,and provide necessary raw materials to enterprises in downstream of industrial chain for optimizing industrial structure.The practice steps are not only a contribution to the comprehensive deepening of reform,but also a necessary transformation to achieve sustainable development.Therefore,how to formulate the strategy of G company’s transformation and upgrading under the China’s new normal,clarify the strategic guiding ideology,strategic positioning and implementation strategy,and propose effective measures to ensure the smooth implementation of the strategy are of vital importance to Company G.This paper takes Company G as the research object.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Introduce the calcium carbonate industry and analyze the China’s new normal characteristics and the impact on the calcium carbonate industry,and the sort out the domestic and international industrial status and analyze the strategic trends of calcium carbonate flagship companies at home and abroad;(2)Briefly introduce the current situation of Company G and analyze the macro environment faced by Company G by PEST analysis method;(3)Analyze the competition status of Company G through Porter’s five-force model;(4)Indicate the internal resources and capabilities of Company G,summarize the external opportunities,threats and internal advantages and disadvantages faced by Company G;(5)Based on the vision,mission and general strategy of the company,combined with the new environment at home and abroad,put forward the general idea and three principles of Company G’s transformation and upgrading under the China’s new normal;(6)Based on the development ideas and the three principles,use the SWOT matrix to indicate and sort out the “advantage-opportunity” strategy,the “advantage-threat” strategy,the “inferior-opportunity” strategy,and the “inferior-threat” strategy.From this,not only the strategic positioning is carried out and it forms a strategy,but also the adjustment of competitive strategic should be emphasized;(7)Formulate the strategies like “Strengthening the communication with local government,obtaining policy support ”,“Developing innovation ability,ensuring enterprise vitality”,“Optimizing organization structure,building a work system suitable for transformation”,“improving innovation and research capabilities,upgrading the enterprise core competitiveness”,“improving the human resources system,reserving talents for enterprise development”,“improving service system and models,enhancing the brand influence all over the country”,“seeking strategic alliances,achieving strategic goals rapidly” to ensure the implementation of the transformation and upgrading strategy based on the China’s new normal.Finally,based on the research results on strategy of G Company’s transformation and upgrading under the China’s new normal,this paper puts forward that in future research work,three aspects,such as the choice of innovative analytical tools,a more comprehensive understanding of the China’s new normal and the further analysis of the case,should be paid more attention to.I hope that the conclusions and results of this study can make contribution to the formulation of the transformation and upgrading strategies of other enterprises under the China’s new normal.
